i would like to state that my tippmann is chopping no matter what i do. I recently replaced the ball detent, put a lapco direct feed, and a Q-loader hopper, to try to fix the problem. I still chop balls. Anyways i was chronoing at 240 and could not shoot any faster.

I think that it could be my drive spring causing the chops. But i cannot explain how the spring would wear out when it is usually uncocked. and i also cant figure if a stronger drive spring would keep the 98 from choping. Is it possible for the pneumatics to blow a hole through the paint? what do you guys think.

are you actually chopping them in the breach or are they breaking in the barrel? I dont see how the spring could be causing any problems. What paint are you using?

A gun is not a weapon... It's a tool. Like a butcher knife, or a harpoon, or...uh, a...an alligator.

yeah it's not your spring, what paint are you using? is it a chop or a barrel break? clean your barrel and take it out and shoot it when it chops take the barrel off and look down it, if the paint starts at the gun end it's a chop, if it starts half way through it's a break. i have my money on a break, if the ball is too big for the bore it will break alot. junk paint causes alot of breaks also.

The bore and the paint probably doesn't match. Get a high quality paint.

I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

no, its a chop, a legit chop. I cant explain it though. i shoot 240's fps and you dont think its my drive spring? Paint is diablo 13's. Ive read reviews and they were fine. They are also much smaller than my barrell.

Im surprised no one else has this problem. I doubt that my gun would be unique.

Q-Loader spring too tight, or too loose (if you even have one). Probaly bad paint, you cant really tell just by what they are; always possibility of a bad match, batch, or age. Try something else. Also, list your specs?

ive put through 2 cases of the same paint. The one was noticably better, but there were too many chops.
