So this is my Ion. I got sick of the regular body so I started to work on stripping the webbing and smoothing it out around Oct. 10th. Tons of stuff came up so I had to postpond the work and got done with it Monday. Enjoy.

Orignally:

Finished Product:

Specs:

QEV, 14" Bigshot, Shocktech Clamping, NDZ Minirail and On/Off, CP Shorty Reg, NDZ Composite Roller, and now the modded body.

Yeah. 85/90*.

Id say keep the 45
frame. I think the 90* frames look so stupid on ions

The iBook isn't mine; it's my brother's. But since I like it so much I steal it and use it when I can.

That is a Lapco Bigshot, 'twas all I could afford at the time. Shoots straight everytime so I don't see myself changing.

Layer of Bondo; sand smooth with 100 grit sandpaper; layer of Bondo; sand smooth with 100 grit sandpaper; thin layer of Bondo; sand smooth with 400 grit sandpaper. As for shiny, I guess just 8 thin coats of paint and then three thin layers of clear coat.

Ah ok....How'd you keep the bondo from effing all up and getting all lumpy and holey and crap...That was the main problem I had with mine....It was so bad I hade to use like 30 grit sandpaper....

If you apply bondo or jb with a puty knife youll almost never get bubbbles. If your getting bubbles you might also be putting it on too thick.
IMPORTANT:Keep bondo away from your nuts, (just a little helpful advice)

I don't really understand your problem, because this was my first time using real Bondo and didn't encounter that. Once I mixed the Bondo and the reactant stuff I used a putty knife to apply it, and then smoothed it out with my hands (I wore latex gloves) and then let it dry.

It did;my brothers and I rode bikes, skateboards, rollerskates, etc. down it and my parents thought we were going to kill ourselves. So they got rid of it.

Hey, I love your Ion! It's very beautiful.  I've always wanted to get an ion but noo...  I have to get a job in order to get enough to buy one.  But with the pool slide, I did the same things that you did.  It... kinda ended short...  My cousin was going down it on a skate board and he went around the turn and flew off the slide and board.  He ended up breaking his nose and wrist .
