Here's a brainstorm I had yesterday reguarding paintball as a spectator's sport.  Watching pb on tv, with current camera angles make's it impossible to follow the game as a whole.  A big part of spectator sport's is being able to follow the ball as well as the player.
My idea is that the competition would start out like a pistol speed shooting competition where 2, possibly more players go thru a snap
shooting course hitting targets that fall when impacted and after they finish the snap shooting section they move to the starting point
for the one on one airball section and play till one player is eliminated.

2 points for the snap shoot and 1 point for the airball competition.

So if one wins the snapshoot, then they don't need to bother in the airball competition? So all there really is a snapshoot?

Snap shooting would not be fun to watch, trust me.

Haven't really put alot of thought into it.  Just a fleeting idea.  That's all.  Best of 7 or something would make the points add up.

Do you get PGi? They said something about paintball not having a focal point like other sports, which all have one ball to follow, or one person to watch perform. With paintball, it's a frenzy. I personally don't think paintball will ever make it big on television. Maybe a tournament here, a tournament there, but never as a continuous show.

I just think a camera filming it all from above with several cameras scattered around to switch to view all of the action will suffice.

It would for people who play/like the sport, but for the fat kid sitting on his couch flipping channels it wouldn't be appealing.

Im sorry, but no one would go for that. Not players, not tv stations, not the viewers, not the camera crew.

If you were to post this on pbnation, other than the possible one or two, good thought, but...., you would get nothing but flames saying how boring that would be, and they would be right.
