The Custom Pro is the blingin shiz nizzle. It doesn't cost $800, and it might not shoot 30 balls in a second, but it is a very worthy and upgradable gun. When you're upgrading, consider what do you want to accomplish with this upgrade. If you need to lay down more paint (like a tournament situation), think about getting a rate of fire upgrade like the E-trigger or E-bolt. The R/T is also good for woods play, but most fields don't allow it. When you start shootin faster though, your stock hopper is not gonna cut it. You'll need something electronic that can push the balls faster. However, once you're shooting fast and not chopping paint, you'll also want a consistent air setup for accuracy and so you can shoot long strings without velocity drop-off. This can be accomplished with anti-siphon tubes and expansion chambers with CO2, or you can get a HPA tank, which is just compressed air, no liquid. Also a better barrel would be a good upgrade, although I don't know how the stock one is on the Custom Pro. There are also simple preference ups like a double trigger, a drop-forward, etc. A good first upgrade would be a barrel, or a HPA tank (if you have a nearby field that can fill it and a wallet that can take it....). A 68cu / 4500 PSI tank is comparable to a 20oz CO2 tank (by # of shots). -------------

Go with a J&J 14" Ceramic barrel, first. It's only about $30-$40 and my personal opinion, is that it's the best barrel out there. Perfect first upgrade. It self cleans if you get a ball break (shoot through the break) and my marker is about as accurate as it gets. Second, get a Palmer's stabilizer. Even if you go to HPA, this makes for a perfect CO2 regulator and a decent HPA reg. No need for an expansion chamber, either. Then get an electric hopper. I have an Empire Reloader 2, which is sound activated (doesn't continuously run) and has a clever design. It's not the fastest, but I mainly play woodsball, so much more speed isn't an issue for me. Then, as money or wife allows, since you have a Custom PRO, get an E-trigger. I don't much care for the RT, so I'm a bit biased. Last but not least, go with HPA if you can. However, with the setup I suggested, HPA is only a last recourse, unless you plan on playing in the extreme cold, alot, or if you plan on speed shooting. After that, it's alot of fluff or what ever floats your boat. Good luck and go through this forum. There's a ton of great info and extremely knowledgeable people (Bruce A. Frank comes to mind).
