Is it really worth 500 bucks to play one game.

that's my dog's birthday. I played it at Wal*Mart too. but it was stuck on a demo so I didn't actually get to play anything. I'm gonna get one in like a year to wait for the prices to drop. Until then...I'm gonna be rockin/moochin at my friends' houses. -------------

Ugh, wow, I went to EB games today and was watching some of the demos, and honestly, it looks like a huge failure. The graphics on some of the demos were on the same level as ps2 or xbox already is, if not alot worse. Again, not impressed, I'll bet alot of the time you wont tell the difference from the original box.

| Yeah, the graphics are currently on par with the current consoles, but you must remember those are on the launch titles. The graphics will improve with time. Just look at Halo compaired to Halo 2. |

Show me one legitamate retailer, on-line or off, that you can actually get a 360 for 300 for the low end, 400 for the high end. Everywhere I've looked is selling some sort of stupid "package" deal to make up for what Microsoft on give you for their base price. Things like a second controller, a game, or a network cable.
I'll give you Kameo, until I see the game anyway, but yeah, I'm pretty sure that Condemned has been done in some form or fashion before. The Project Gotham series has been done for quite a while. Hence the "3" at the end. |

Yeah, probably not, but the point still stands that the cheapest XBox 360 I can personally find on the market from a reliable source is 579.06 at walmart.
Its 20 bucks short of double the supposed price, and for what? a second controller and a couple of games? An ethernet cable? A wireless connector that I thought was going to be built-in anyway? Regardless of what they're "bundling", until I can get it off the shelf and walk out of a store with it for 300+tax, they can't claim that they're selling it for 300+tax. |

Well, the games are like 59 bucks, so you get two games, or three in the bundle, that plus 100 or 159, however you want to look at it. Then you get that extra controler, thats like fifty bucks right there, so thats 200 right there. I think they do this to be sneaky. Instead of offering the base system by itself like they used to do, and sell everything at Retail.
They bundle it up for something that costs maybe 350 at list, and sell it to you for 600 retail. Sneaky sneaky sir. See, it takes less than 3 bucks to make a video game CD. So they sell it at Retail with a bundel to make up the money they lost makin the bloody system. I am only waiting until i can get the $400 version. i dont want those games. like someone else said i want the new ES (elder scrolls). i may get perfect dark. personally i think the original goldeneye needs to be made for XBOX. the only difference being an imporvement on the graphics, and having an online multiplayer. that was the best game ever.
curious. would you rather play a great game, with good gameplay and a good storyline and good replay value, but with just decent graphics, or a game with the most amazing graphics in the world. but with crappy everyhting else? |

Where did all the xbox fanboys go? It seems that many of them
transmutated into sony fanboys once they realized that the "Most powerful console ever" has little in the way of actual graphics or even gameplay. Don't believe me? Go play one at Compusa. To those of you who say it doesnt look much better than Xbox, i have no idea what you're talking about. To be honest, I've only played it in HD, but let me tell you in HD it looks great! I guess theres a possibility that its not a huge improvement on projected Tvs because they focused on HD gameplay (but I doubt that. lso, this is personal prefrence but Xbox has a better collection of games than Ps2 and i don't think(for me anyways) will change for the next-generation. I mean, it semms even games availible on both consoles, teh xbox versions are better or more enjoyable. And for those who like Xbox games and the Halo series you have no other option. After the next few months all Xbox games will be on 360. And for all you complaining about 360's price, i hope you have A LOT of money because altough no offical price has been released estimates are guessing $500+ for PS3.(for the console only, not a bundle)I've also noticed this: Maybe it's because Im using WMP but some of the 360 videos dont look good at all. But I've seen them on the console itself, They're sooo much better looking! From looking at the specs, I believe ps3 will be very little if any more technologically adavnced than 360. By the way, when is Revolution supposed to come out? |

On Cambie street here, at the EB games there they're having a midnight launch tournament. I predict lameness.
I bought Need for speed underground: most wanted: black edition (longest title ever) And yeah, I wasnt a fan of underground or underground2, but this one is pretty intense... I liked midnight club 3 more before because you didnt have to tune every single componant of your car like you do in the nfsu series.. |

Well...My friend stayed outside the Wal*Mart to get
the Xbox 360 and got the cheaper one. He's hanging on to it to wait and see if they get any more shipments in on the $400 set so he can return it. And if it takes awhile to get a shipment in...then he'll still have the $300 system. -------------

pushing it to its potential. Most of the games that you guys are
dissing are the fault of the game producers... not the 360. At least

I would believe a MS Rep saying that game producers couldn't use the 360 to it's full level. Look at the Ps2 launch games compared to Ps2 games now, those aren't the fault of Sony. That is the fualt of the launch game producers. -------------

Sporx, does your friend realize what he's done. Look at it this way, to do ANYTHING pretty much, you have to be able to save. Without the harddrive, you need a memory card. Cheapest memory card goes about...$50....
He lost about 20gigs of memory, for $50?...he shoulda saved up some more, sucks for him. |

All the PS3 stuff is fake... Every time there is a new console or game, most of the early stuff they show you is "proof of concept" Which just means a pre-rendered movie of what they think it might look like. It never does. Remember those movies for Ps2? |
