I'm surpised Detroit isn't #1, after all, it is #1 for like every other bad catagory, such as "fattest city" and I think the mayor who was just re-elected was like the 3rd worst mayor in the country -------------

Psh. Its only the worst because the statistics actually are reported.
%th ward here is a place the police cant go into because the gangs
there are notorious for shooting police on the spot. The same can be
said for any white people venturing in there, because of the fear of
undercover cops, and outsiders that arent into buying and smoking/using
drugs. There are bulletholes on the welcome sign that says "Welcome to
Historical Fifth Ward." Not a place I would ever want to go. -------------

I laugh when I hear kids I go to school with talk about how they were in the "hood/ghetto"...our area is a play ground compared to the places you guys are talking about -------------

There's a girl in my Spanish class out here in OC California whose brother was killed in a drive by shooting in Camden a couple years ago. She lived there until just a few months ago, when she moved out here. ------------- Overshooting, America's greatest pastime. |

Hmmm... I'll remember that next time I'm driving thru.
With the local gubmint saying that it's safer, and Gracy confirming, I'll be sure next month to drive down the streets at night with my doors unlocked, windows open, and Ronnie Milsap playing on the radio. Of course... you'll never see or hear from me again. There ARE safer parts of the city... the waterfront is coming along slowly... but overall, yea not so much. When Gracy hears no more gunshots, and not just fewer, I'll believe that its safer (or that Camden hoodrats have started to use suppressors to keep the noise pollution down) |

Our crime rate here in Omaha is fairly high for the region we're in. Just last year, there were two serial rapists going around, and a couple murders every month, mostly down in the 24th and Lake area. There was a drive-by a block away from my house about 2-3 months ago.
The Fontanelle housing projects were real bad until they tore the buildings down around 1990 or so. They nicknamed it "Little Vietnam". Also, meth is a HUGE problem here. |
