| I have a Pro-Carbine with a Lapco Big-Shot barrel. Because the barrel only has porting at the muzzel, I have trouble getting my velocity down to a level that is acceptable at the field where I play. The field limits velocity to 260-280 fps; with my velocity adjustment screw all the way in, my velocity is usually about 285-295 fps. This happens with CO2 and HPA. I've seen lots of posts about spring kits that raise velocity. Is there a kit with a spring that could lower my velocity to the 260-280 fps range, or should I just get another stock spring and clip it? |

There are spring kits, notably the Maddman Spring kit... however, its my experience that the three springs included in the kit are all actually stronger than the stock spring, so you'd still have the same problem.
I would clip a spring. Not too much though, as then it won't cycle. Whichever is most cost effective... Maddman Kit (3 drive springs) or stock spring. Maddman kit will also have 2 springs that can be used to replace your trigger spring and reduce pull from 9lbs to 3lbs (if you haven't done so already). Keep the stock sear spring. |

RVA. Yes that would help lower the pressure on the drive spring causing it to lower velocity. Do they make a RVA for the Pro-Carb? ------------- Zafira |

Hmmmm... I haven't had very good experiences with the I&I RVAs, or any other similar RVA with a thumbscrew.
