Does anyone else see any ideas here?  I know that the C3 is intended for Propane but Butane burns with about 30% more energy.  That should compensate for the higher boiling point by running the gun leaner and allow quite a few shots out of a cylinder.  I just need to look into a machine shop that could make a prototype for me.

Looking for info about it http://c3owners.frih.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=39 - here

I believe the stock class rules specifically require 12g CO2, in which case they would have to be changed regardless to accomodate teh C3.  I could be wrong...

Stock class also requires "rock n cock" feed via 10rd tubes. The vertical feed assembly of the C3 does not comply.

However, the possibility of 12g-size Propane cartridges has indeed been a desire for C3 users since the gun's release. I have a feeling that one day we'll see them on the market.
Although I HIGHLY doubt they will be as economical as the standard 16oz tanks.

When I was saying stock class I was merely saying the stock class size power canister.  There is no governing body over stock class games anymore.  All there are is the local field rules.  Most fields say any pump is stock class.  I was just trying to show a possibility of another smaller power source with the C3.  It would still have enough shots in it to be comparable or even likely to exceed the capacity of a normal constant air tank, but, it looked like a lot of fun.  I know that it won't be the most economical option but it would keep things much smaller, tighter, and lighter.  I believe that this would be quite nice to keep the advantage ante going up on this gun.

I was looking on the SCP tourny rules yesterday, and it said you could use any air source including 12g/constant air. Wierd huh?

Agreed! I probably wouldn't use anything other than the standard tanks for my C3... but it would still be nice to have the option.

I have mixed feelings, On one hand its new technology and should be embraced, yet on the other hand, a guy with co2 would have to put in a new one every 20ish shots but the guy with propane every 100ish.

Refilling CO2 every 20 shots in stock class? Where the heck did you get THAT number. Even my semiauto pistol gets 30-35 per 12g, and I've read of the Phantom getting anywhere between 30 and 60 shots per 12g.

for that matter, fi you watch a professional pump team play, like for instance the Blowfish, you'll rarely see any one guy fire more than 10 or 12 shots per game. I watched a video fo the Blowfish (using stock class) decimating a speedball team that was decked out with electro semis. It was never even close to fair.

Notice I said 20ish, and not all stockclass get those kind of numbers.

Also, if you know your link has bad language, why bother posting it...

Because relatively few people are offended by coarse language these days. I'm not actually psoting anything bad on the site; they have the choice whether to follow the link or not.

Any stock class worth buying gets those kinds of numbers. Find me a well-regarded one that doesn't.
