I somehow twisted my steel braided hose and I was wondering if this is a
bad thing or will everything work just fine. It is on my back up gun so looks
are not important just performance (as with my top gun)

what do you mean by "twisted" like you made the braids slip or like you put a kink in it by bending it the kink should work fine but im not so shure bout if the braids slipped and twisted.

I guess it is a twist. It looks like if you take a string and hold it straight and
turn one hand a quarter of an inch. Nothing else happened, just haven't seen
one with a twist in it, they usually are straight. Do you think it is a problem?

If it is not leaking, it isn't frayed  and it isn't restricting gas flow to the marker then don't worry about it.

Thanks it is not leaking, but how can I tell if it is restricting gas flow?

You can't get the velocity up to where it needs to be or distance (velocity) drops off during rapid fire.
