So I just started. Got a nice basecoat of Desert Beige.
I was applying the diamondback stencil when my plotter started acting up.

I will add w more colors, a brown and maybe a tan or green.  not sure yet...

So here's what I have so far before the plotter software started acting up...

should try to put the seams on the bottom of the hopper and gun so they aren't that noticeable, very cool concept though should look sweet!!!

well, I made some boneheaded errors when laying out the stencil
There is a definite flow to the scales;  So late at night, while all zonked on cold medicine I placed some of them backwards. Not a big thing, but I'm such a perfectionists... The lesson, dont stencil when you are tired or sick!

(Thanks to my wife who looked at the first layout and said that diamonds in a line looked wrong. While a snake may have them in a line, you never see a straight snake....with a  a hopper attached. So I randomized the diamonds a bit.)

I've learned some good lessons and will need to fix my stencil before I try this again.

So here she is with a fresh woodland brown and an application of diamond stencils.

This should come out nice.

Have you been re-painting the same A-5 or do you have more than a few of these?

Nice job and GL with the rest!

Ok, I couldnt take it anymore. I peeled off the stencil.

So now I have a favor to ask. Give me your intelligent opinion. If you like it, tell me why, if you dont, again, tell me why. My goal is to become a better painter.

Thanks!

I have owned a 98 Old School and two A-5's.

The one I used for the Digi was brand new, this one (for the snake) is older, and I painted it in a Woodland Predator prior to this.

That turned out great. What a sweet look.  Very professional.

I don't know how much of a market there is for desert camo though. Maybe if you did one with green, brown, and black.....? if you are indeed thinking of starting a business with this...

Nice job

really cool gun, like the white on the dessert color, I'm hoping you could
help though. My 98 custom still has thte black paint on it and is starting
to come off, well a lot of it is chipping and peeling.
What stuff do i need o paint my gun:
What kind of paint, primer, anything i would need, and how do i get the
old black paint off.

Thanks for your help.

Next time, give it less flow.  I think scales should look sort of disheveled and out of order.

Jasco Paint stripper is great for removing paint.
I dont prime because duracoat doesnt need it. I ahve heard good things about Brownells and Krylon Fusion.
Duracoat is applied with an airbrush, so if you go that route you will need an airbrush kit.

Yea, the stencil needs to be optimized. It was made for painting on large flat surfaces, like a wall, not a curvaliscious paitnball marker...
