Um... Newsflash, soccer IS real football..

Your american football is just a sissyfied version of rugby. A fine game, rugby that is.

I've played rugby; I've played football; I've played soccer.

Football > rugby > soccer

The main thing soccer has going for it (which is a BIG thing) is that it is the consummate pickup game.  Any number of people can play a game, anytime, anywhere.  Anyone can play.  It is the street game to end all street games.

When i was little we always had a soccer ball, we have 5 friends, 6, 7, didnt matter we always could make do. It was great.

Then i moved. And the neihboors were mean and no one played soccer.

Well the team I wish would go to the bowl? The Steelers, but from their last few games and a bit of common sense they obviously don't have a shot. I could see the Colts going over the rest of the teams. If the Bengals had the offensive line to match the skills of Carson Palmer, im sure they could dominate in the playoffs, not that their O-line isn't good or anything, but Carson Palmer is a freaking beast, although my loyalty still lays with my guys in Black and Gold.

And Dbib..get out.. Just go back to France if you can't appreciate the fine game of football. I mean no other sport is as fun to watch on TV than football IMO, it just gets you so pumped up when you see Roethlisberger throw that nice pass for the TD. I love it.

Edit: I am also more concerned with the freaking Patriots getting shut down, dynasty my ass.

Football is a great TV sport.  The natural breaks in the game give you lots of time for replays, analysis, stat-geekdom, charting and graphing...

Great stuff for TV.

I can apreciate the game, but only if im there, i love going to games, soccer and football, but i CANNOT sit through a baseball game. I dont see how people sit through 9 innings of baseball.

I do love to see a long bomb get cought only to see the guy get hit by a 300 lbs truck on legs.

if you only knew what it was like to be a running back for an american football and there eleven guys trying to smash you into the ground and you dont get hurt or score a touchdown on a really long run then you can say its sissyfied sport

soccer is football! You are all living a lie!

I have grown up with soccer (which from now on will be referred to by me as football) all of my life, I've been playing for at least 11 years and have been watching it for 10. I have also attempted to watch American "football" but to me it is too boring there is no flow in the game. Where as proper football goes for 45 mins non stop then 45 mins again and is a great sport to watch.

You just made a legitimate point about not judging football without trying it, and then you completely undermine yourself by making an ignorant statement about rugby.

In a no-pads match of Sapp vs. this guy, I may not bet on Sapp:

Yeah, Steelers are my guys too. More realistically, the colts are for sure going... To be honest, my other choice would be chicago, theyve got a good team this year.
BTW, lions play the packers sunday, 2 crappy teams should make for a good game.

As you know, Im from Cincy, and I have a few things to say.

First of all, I've been a diehard fan, even through 2-14 seasons. :(  Theres actually an article about the Bengals bandwagon in Sports Illustrated this week.

And Another thing, Haha Apu, Haha.  Hines Ward can not do the Icky Shuffle, I despise him for even trying.

Besides, Willie Anderson is all the offensive line that you'll ever need.  But on defense, our line could improve, it's just our secondary and their turnovers (+24) that keep our defense solid.

But yea, it is called the impossible to go 19-0 for a reason. It's impossible.

The AFC championship game, the Bengals are taking it away.

(And the AFC championship will be better than the superbowl)

Honestly, I was going to let it slide.  But you just keep going!  You are the Energizer Bunny of unfounded generalizations.

You have already admitted that you have no real experience playing soccer, and I'll take a stab in the dark and guess that you have never played any serious amount of rugby either.  (I can't speak to your bb experience)

You also clearly have never watched any significant amount of either.

So - you haven't played or watched soccer or rugby, yet you can categorically and generally declare that football is greater than those other sports?

I understand hyperbole as well as the next guy (gal), but judging from the totality of your posts, I think you are actually literally serious.

Dissing curling? I wasnt dissing curling. Ive never played, but it looks kind of fun. You slide the stones down the ice and brush the ice infront of the stone to hit other stones. Kinda like bacci ball on ice i think.

But i wasnt dissing it! And im glad people notice my sig.

Ah, my bad.  I'm a bit sensitive, as people are always picking on curling...   :)

It is indeed quite fun, and is like bocca on ice, except that there are more physical variables and more physical skill and teamwork involved.  And just learning to walk on curling shoes takes some people a while.

I dont think i could slide a stone down a slab of ice and have my team mates stear the bloody thing. When i see the bowler slide, it makes me think that its harder than it looks.

Well, the slider "steers" by inducing spin as you release the stone.  The sweepers can change the rate of deceleration, and can change the effect of the spin.  Sweeping = melted ice = more speed and less curve.

So yeah, back to the topic; the Colts are going to win the Super Bowl because they will never have to play outdoors in the playoffs/Super Bowl. They won't go undefeated, however, because playing in December at Seattle isn't fun. Seattle kills the perfect season, Colts still take the title.

You - out of the country. Now.

I live in Massachusetts. I didnt watch any of the Super Bowl Games for the Patriots ever. Even the three they wont in the last 4 years. Nor have I ever watched the super bowl except during commerical breaks to see the commercials.
