Hey i was thinking of making an american revolution game. you would have a side wearing blue armbands(representing Americans) and the other side wearing red(represening British). other factors would be included such as the Dec. of Ind. which would have to be protected and caried by two players minimum, and maby some of the battels befor hand, so it would be like one weakend of play. is there any thing like this??? P.S. single loading your gun would be part of it

Another game could be a Vietnam game you can guess the siuation on that.

Any ideas would help.

So what do you think about these?

I like the idea, but with today's style of play, having to single load your marker won't be too popular with players who are used to firing a gazillion rounds a second.

Games like that used to be popular back in the 80's when there was a limitation on gear, and a lot of people were using pumps and low end semis...

You don't see many of them today though. Imagine someone showing up to your game with an impulse? I bet they don't hang around long.

and, its REALLY hard to single fire an A-5

A vietnam game would be more popular. The style of play expressed by alot of players today is sorta like the attitude during vietnam of "spray and pray".

i actually saw something like this before. you can only carry paintballs in your pockets or in bags and load them individually. no bulk loaders. you would organize into firing lines like "lines 1 and 2." it would go like this:

Commander: "line 1, fire!"
line 1: *fires*
Commander: "line 1, load, line 2, fire!"

and repeat. just like the good old days!

You should suggest this to your local field(s) and see if they will sponsor it.

I think it would be cool to make a senario game that has no historical background so we could just make up stuff as we went along. For instance, make each team live off limited supplies (amount that can be sold in total to any particular side) and allow supply raids and stuff to make supply lines part of the gaming experince.

Yeah, they called them 'skirmishers', actually. Back in the 1700s they had companies of skirmishers who worked in pairs isntead of in big formations. They'd get out in front and harass them with random fire to confuse their formations. In the early 1800s the British got the Baker rifles and suddenly the skirmishers could engage out to 200 yards instead of at 50. It's really neat history to read about- the imperial era infantry battles...

The Sharpe series is about a man named Richard Sharpe who joins the British infantry as a private in 1799.It's 20 books that follow his career through the British batles in India, and then through the Napoleonic Wars. The actual battles are basicaly the career history of General Sir Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington. He appears as a character in many fo the books.

the series follows Sharpe as he makes his way up the ranks, and gets commissioned form the ranks as an infantry officer- except he runs into a LOT of trouble there, because he wasn't brought up as a gentleman. He ends up with the first British rifle regiment, the 95th rifles, and then from there goes all over the palce on all kinds of adventures, all absed more or less on real events, and with all the batles being real and fought almost exactly as theya ctually were.

If you're a history nerd, as you describe, you'd love the series. They're just paperbacks; the first one, Sharpe's Tiger, can be picked up for under 10 bucks. It's a popular series, so you oughtn't have any trouble finding them.

HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS .

In all seriousness, I'd to be able to make a game where more strategy can be involved. It would also be cool to have ranks. That would encourage players to be responsible and think wisely on the field of play. The night games would be tough tho. I know at some point I need my rest...

For more strategic games, just get equipment restrictions. People get a lot mroe strategic when they're only using pumps, or when they have fairly limited ammo.
