Hey guys, thanks for reading this. I've had my 98 for about 2 years
and play all the time, about 2 times a month. now the paint is starting to
come off of almost all the nuts/screws and around the forward hand grip,
what can i do to get it looking nice and new:

Can i just repaint the certain spots

strip off all the paint and then repaint it myself

take it to somewhere and have them do it, how much does this cost.

Thanks a lot!

You could do pretty much everything you listed.

If you send it to someone to paint it for you, then you would get a really good paintjob. Look online for some custom paintjob sites.

If you do it yourself, you will get an O.K. paintjob. Use spraypaint, or an airbrush, and then cover it with a clearcoat. Go to the gun upgrades and customizing and read the thread about digital camo for more info on how to paint it yourself.

or you could buy new recievers if you dont feel like finding someone to paint it.....i know 32.50 for each side is expensive, but consider that compared to prices you get from painters, or make a judgement on whether or not you think you can a really good job on it

just one comment, if you use high-heat spray paint, dont use a primer.  it makes the paintjob very weak and easily scrachable

TIP for painting. If you would like to get a textured "crackle" paintjob, simply buy a can of spraypaint in your favorite color, and put your gun-plates in the freezer, once they're pretty cold, take them outside, and spray them. The paint will VERY quickly become "crackly", and it looks wicked on tippmanns. I usually put a coat of clear acrylic paint over it for durability, but thats entirely up to you.

I have 98 Customs as well. It also has some paint scrapped off in places from crawling around in the woods. I would not bother repainting it. It does not look that bad. Plus, it will only get scratched again anyway.

Now if I changed my mind here is what I would do. Send it to a powder coater. that is much better and more durable that painting.
