Sand paper. Or, by using a Dremel with a sanding attachment. The Dremel will be a whole lot easier than just doing it by hand. But to get in the sight rail, you'll need to use sand paper by hand, and fold it to get in there.

You can also use paint remover (just remembered). There is 1 kind that works well from what I've heard. At the current moment I can't think of the name though... Search, and maybe you'll find the brand.

Edit: It's JASCO that's supposedly good. You can find it at Home-Depot (also from what I hear). I highly suggest you use this over slaving over your gun w/ sand paper.

^^No, I don't think it would rust the recievers. As long as you take out the nuts on the right reciever, then you should be good (so water doesn't sit behind them). You probably rinse the recievers in water after you're done anyway. I'm not 100% sure though, as I have never used the stuff.

It's very easy. Alright, step 1: First, dis-assemble your gun completely, so you just have the 2 reciever halves. Step 2: Insert the reciever bolts into just the right reciever, the same way you would if the gun was together, but without the left side. Step 3: Get a hammer. Now, tap on the heads of the reciever bolts that are through the right reciever. The nuts should pop out of the right of the right reciever, leaving the screw through the body, connected to the nut. Uncrew the bolts, and you will have the nuts out! Hope this helps.

When I painted my gun I didn't even remove the paint. I just roughed up the old paintjob with sandpaper and painted a few coats over it.

I used a chemical paint remover called Zip-Strip to remove the paint from my receivers.  It works very well.

Maybe. But it would take days. Literally. The outside paint is very hard. Sand Paper> Steel Wool for getting the paint off the recievers. Now Steel Wool> Sand Paper for polishing your internals.

You can buy a rotary steel brush that wil fit into a drill. You can get
them in varying sizes and corseness. They're readily available at any
Home Depo or Lowe's and they don't cost a fortune....I assume you
have a drill...right?

Use it to get into small areas as well and any large areas and it will
rough up the finish as well. Give it a try.
