1.5 hours I shall be heading down to the Marine Corps recruiting center
in Lansing Michigan to take my physical. As long as I pass, my next
post will be as a Marine. Im going to be in the reserves for 6 years,
as a bridge builder. I learn how to build and blow up bridges, and then
go tell other people how to do it. Cant be a bad job, I love building
and blowing stuff up. Wish me luck. |

^ Ha. Um, no. Im 17, almost 18 actually. Now an update. I officially passed the physical. Swore in 30 minutes after I was done. My boot camp date is June 26th, shipping to San Diego. Physicals took FOREVER. I got there at 5 am, didnt get done till 1030. But Im in, and it was the best choice I ever made. Semper Fi. |

No, you are not. Your ass belongs the US Government, but that doesn't make you a Marine. You have to earn that right(which you have not). Ask your recruiter if you are a Marine yet, he will say "No". -------------

Agreed. Just because you're enlisted in the Marine Corps doesn't make you a Marine. You're not even a recruit yet. I would suggest dropping that attitude before you get down there. You don't even rate being able to say "ooh-rah" and "semper fi". 1st Phase=learning to be a recruit. Your Drill Instructors don;t consider you one until second phase, you're just a stupid immature kid who doesn't know what he got himself into in their sight. 2nd Phase=Being a recruit. Doing recruit things you need to graduate. Qualify and test. 3rd phase= Learning to be a Marine. BWT, the crucible, inspections, ect. The real stuff people go to bootcamp for, the last third. You're a Marine when you graduate. No matter what your recruiter says. I just hope he's the good type of recruiter who makes you come in for weekly PT and smokes you til you pass out. Learning to love that will make PI a lot easier. |

Yea, when I went I got there at 5, and didn't get out until about 7 P.M. It sucked though, my recruiter told us not to eat breakfast and such. BTW devil-fire. I'm delayed entry too, it sucks. ------------- |

Actually my brother is in the program  .
I just know what goes on because he tells me. I found out how
boring the physicals were because I wanted to get something really bad
and went with him.
