i dont mean to be a traitor i trust my life with my 98c but propane just makes me feel uncomfortable under normal use i think it would fine but my gun has taken some major abuse that i would not think of trying with a gun with propane strapped to it
lets here wat you have to say

this has been brought up before, and do you really believe that a major company like tippmann would produce a product like that without extensive research? it doesnt make sense to produces something that would hurt its reputation and customers. also, every paintball gun is dangerous if misused.

Could this happen?
You hold up lighter at the end of the barrel and dry shoot the
gun. That would cause a pretty nice size fireball. I'm not sure
how big. That fires follows the propne throughout the gun and
ignites inside of the tank. Since the propane would be
compressed it would cause an explosion.

it doesnt put out any un burnt propane any way unless the ignition was broken and propane is hard to light with a small open flame

It wont blow up, and holding a lighter at the end when you shoot wont
do anything. The propane is already ignited inside the marker so its
not like your shooting flammable gasses.

not to mention, the amount of propane it uses is EXTREMELY SMALL. it has to be to get 50,000 shots on a 16 oz cylinder.

it's very dangerous. one blew up at the park down the road yesterday. many were injured...
come on, how would tippmann get approval to manufacture and sell a product that held great danger to it's users?

agreed...i mean why would they release something that wasn't throughly tested and could result in a massive law suit?

yup... tippmann engineers just strapped a spark plug and a propane tank to a gun and called it a day....
and if you hold a lighter to the end of the barrel the air that comes
out would simply blow out the lighter... all the combustion is inside
and it uses the expanding left over gasses which are inert to propel
the ball.
it's perfectly safe as long as you're not smoking a cigar while bashing the tank against a rock...

Oh yeah those c3s are so dangerous i hear the governments going to have
secret agents pretend to be arms dealers and sell c3's to insurgents on
a pretend black market for in hope that they'll kill themselves before
reaching iraq. Or maybee i made all that up and its just a bunch of
bullcrap which I'm not saying I did but I did. But honestly its not a
big deal to use propane, who knows anytime you unscrew your co2 tank
the tank could uscrew from the valve launch like a rocket and take your
head off.

I'd feel a lot safer bashing a propane tank against a rock than a CO2, or HPA tank. Those would actually expolde if ruptered. A propane tank doesn't have enough pressure to really go boom from being punctured.
I once decided to try to get on to go boom by lighting a candle next to it, then going back and shooting it with a high powered rifle. All it did was make a big, smelly cloud and blow out the candle. The concentration of propane was so high, there wasn't enough air in the mixture to ignite. The tank just had a .310" hole in the front of it an about a 2" hole in the back. It didn't fragment or anything.
I also tried a similar thing with a green gas can for airsoft(same stuff, only when you shoot a gas powered airsoft gun over a candle, it WILL be a flamethrower). I wrapped it in newpaper, set it in fire, and shot it with a .22. It fell over and sprouted a 3 foot flame that burned for a while. No explosion.
I'd feel safe with a C3.

hell, you could misuse damn near anything and get killed, if people didnt take these risks, what would be the point of technology?
