I would suggest saving a little bit, and getting an A-5. Or go with the custom pro, your choice.

i think for $200 the most bang for your buck is the regular a5. you can get one for about $219 shipped to your door.

You could get a Custom Pro and then have 40-50 bucks to buy ups with. Or better yet, save that extra money for an r/t or e-grip.
------------- Stiffy2008- 'wat is a noob?'
Yep, I lied about getting a Trans Am.

Go to your local proshop they might have a refurbished A-5. Refurbeshed means they sent it in to tippmann to get fixed and they didnt want the gun back so tippmann sells them cheaper than brand new. The refurbeshed ones are just as good, though.

I'd go with an A5. You can probably find one for around $100 either online or at your local shop.

If its a new A-5 thats over his price budget, but I bet you could find a used one for much less.

Get an A-5 or a Custom Pro. I prefer the A-5, but the Custom is more in your price range.

New to the sport altogether? Then if so, for that $200, you'll need the gun, tank, and a mask at the very least. A-5 is just a tad out of the price range. I'd recommend a Model 98 Custom. But the best way to know for sure, head out to your local paintball shop and look over the shelf. There is a vast difference between looking at pics of a paintball gun, and actually holding one in your hands. See what feels comfortable to you.
Also, you DON'T want to go cheap on your goggles. During a day's game of paintball, you'll be spending a lot of time in them. You will want good goggles that won't fog up, and will feel comfortable all through the day's games.

how about this... organize a trip to skirmish with 20 people and get an
a5 for free and then use the $200 to get a barrel, egrip (or r/t), co2,
and a good mask maybe.

I love tig's 98. Anyway, the 98c is one of the best beginner guns. It's idiot proof, and bullet proof.

hes not joking just got his info wrong
10 or more players, you will Play for FREE, and receive a FREE color photo, and receive 100 FREE paintballs.
20 or more players, everyone will play at Reduced Rates, plus you play on PRIVATE FIELDS and receive a photo plaque - along with all of the benefits listed above.
25 or more players, and we'll give you a FREE Tippmann 98 Semi-Automatic Paintball Gun to keep ... OR a Free case of paint! Plus, you will receive all the other group leader benefits. (No Other Specials Apply)
30 or more players, you and another person in your group will play for FREE, plus everything above!
45 or more players and you'll receive a NEW TIPPMANN A-5 Semi-Automatic Gun, or 2 ½ CASES OF PAINT, plus everything above with the exception of the Tippmann '98. **If you bring 2 groups of 25 or more, this is also an option. We'll give you a credit voucher when you bring the first group of 25.

I would recomend a 98 custom or an a-5. Both are excellent stock. and both are really nice with several upgrades. Earn some more $ then buy your ugrades. for the A-5 an egrip, barrel, and a double trigger, 98 custom, respnce trigger system, barrel, and a new hopper
------------- what?

i would go with a custom pro or an a-5. custom pro: pros: sweet barrel, asowome internals and double trigger .cons: no hopper and don't look that great. a-5: pros: sweet hopper, looks good. cons: can't use scop casue hopper in da way and a crap barrel. personal i would go wit the a-5 jus save a bit of extra dough
