low pressure air.....hpa is high pressure air. hpa is preset at 850psi and lpa is preset at 450psi.

No. Thats wrong.

HPA is high pressure air, but it refers to the type of tank you are using in reference to the fact that HPA is compressed breathing air.

There is no such thing as lpa, that would suggest that there is air that  is being held in a lower than atmospheric pressure inviroment. Meaning the air would be at like 4psi

What you are refering to is the Output of the tank. A Low Output Tank is 450psi, a High Output Tank is 850psi.

Now to answer your question, it doesnt matter what output your tank is, bacause the secondary reg on your Ion will lower it to where it needs to be. The people at your field are just being hypocritical.

Actually, I'd rather have a HP tank. It will prevent shoot-down at high rates of fire (even though you're probably not going to shoot that fast).

oh ok thanks i should have just typed it more out instead of being lazy and just typing lpa. i guess i will just keeping useing my hpa tank and if my reg blows smart parts will replace it within a year.

Your reg will not blow... actually with SP, you never know.  But in all honesty, your reg will not blow, taking that you maintain it properly.

You are wrong.

There is such a thing called LPA(low pressure air).  In the medical facility I work at, that is what we use on patients that cannot breathe on their own.  High Pressure Air would suffocate them.  The air we breathe is not measured in PSI.  If that was the case then we would be walking around with tank packs that compresses air for us to breathe.  The air around us is not compressed.  You can say HPA and LPA is compressed air, and does not always mean it is for "breathing".  Medical, diving, and other areas where oxygen is needed for prolonged time is what you can properly call "breathing" air.  "Breathing " air is very critical and it has to be filtered and purified before going into a tank or apparatus.  The air that they fill up in our tanks at the paintball fields aren't always "breathing" air but  compressed air that was used with a compressor.  Who would want to go to diving or be laying on a gurney in a hospital with air that is contaminated with fuel or other gases ?

So if you were to get a new reg..say, a Cp shorty reg or something would the High output tanks still work just as well?

Yes, It is. The normal air pressure on earth is 14.7 psi. It decreases as you reach a higher altitiude though) If that was the case then we would be walking around with tank packs that compresses air for us to breathe.  The air around us is not compressed.  You can say HPA(technically anything compressed more than 14.7psi can be comsideder compreesed air) and LPA(yet again, but sung the term LPA you are suggesting that the air is in a vacuum, or is at less than atpmosheric preesure which is 14.7psi) is compressed air, and does not always mean it is for "breathing". You are correct here about the filters, I was making a generalization based on the fact that if you are standing right next to a paintball compressor and breathing, you are beathing the same air that is in your tank.

so in other words, there is such a thing as LPA(low pressure air).  Yes the air pressure around us is normally 14.7 lbs per square inch and I am wrong about the air around not being compressed.   The reason we do not feel compressed is that we also contain air within our bodies and that evens it out.  If we did not have air in our bodies we would have a hard time breathing.  But the air we breathe is measured in AQI(Air Quality Index).  You do not hear the news station informing the public what PSI it is for the air would be for that day.
