Despite my good night post ending with a happy star, I can't sleep. It's currently 1:28 my time and I have to be up at 7:00 and I'm not the least bit tired. I've been doing this like every other night for a while. Either this or I'll be really tired but I'll just lay there thinking of random stuff. It's really starting to get annoying. I think I'm developing like full blown insomnia....Oh well, anybody have any experience with that kinda thing? Tips for sleep? Or tips for what to do with my new found wakey time?

Have a drink, take some nyquill or have some alone time. They all work for me.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Have something warm to drink and do a little light reading. Nothing you'll have to think about afterwards. The reading will help clear your head, and it'll be easier to relax and really fall asleep.

By this time though, you're already needing to be up, but remember this for next time.

I have the same problem. I'll lay down in my bed
around 11:30 everynight. Then I just start thinking
about stuff then I look at the clock and it reads 1 or 2
something. Lately I've been playing tetris or watch TV
to help me go to sleep and it works. (for me) I don't
like to read before bed cuz I get into the book, so I
actaully stay up even longer.

I went to bed at like 3am, which is a tad late for me since I usually go to bed around 1:30.

The trick is waking up early and exhausting yourself. Mentally and/or physically. Do that, have a few shots or some Nyquil, and "alone time" as suggested, and go to bed at a reasonable hour.

reading keeps me up late, that's why I was up later than normal last night.

Ok I have a clock thing that plays like nature sounds and stuff like that (waterfall, raining, thunder, waves from the ocean etc.) and when I cant sleep I just turn it on and listen to it..my favorite is the rainifall one..and the best thing is it has an auto shut off..you push this button and it will select 15-30 min before it goes off..or you can not set the timer and it will play until you shut it off...I recomend it...

Take a sleeping pill! And log off... No offence but staying on the computer is NOT going to help

Take a hot shower about 2 hours before going to sleep, by then your body will cool down and that's a sign for your body that you need rest.

I've been having problems for the past few months like that. Today I fell asleep around 3am to get up at 7ish. It happens pretty much every night.

Careful, though.  Some people have wierd reactions to it.

One person my brother worked with always had dreams of seeing people's skin melt off while she was on it.

And I've heard that if you take it enough, your body won't be able to produce enough of it on its own, so you'll basically be dependent on it to sleep.

Same with a lot of hormone supplements.

Worked for me when I took it, though.  Just take it until your sleep cycle is back to normal.
