How many balls can the whole hopper contraption hold?  I'm thinking close to 500.

My suggestion - build a custom hopper.  Chop off the top of the regular A-5 hopper, and attach a giant hopper thing instead, like a 2-liter bottle, or big tupperware.  A little paint, and you will have a 2,000-round hopper for your heavy gunner.

But nice.

:)

The hopper holds 350 Balls.. then u add the offset piece 50 more  so 400 all together

The offset I purchased off ebay.. Email me at mailto:mastersgtzeus@yahoo.com - mastersgtzeus@yahoo.com   and i'll send u the link to the guy who sells them...

Yes it's a decently heavy Machine gun..  but for me it's not bad at all  considering I am 6'7" 325 lbs to begin with.  Anything smaller and I'd feel "stupid"

Posted By: RavenGuard
Date Posted: 20 January 2006 at 10:42pm
we've gotta be the exact opposite...  You put tonnes of heavy stuff on your gun, and hold atleast 350 balls, while i keep what i need and use a 50 round hopper :p  Looks good but i don't like the ammo box.

I'd say possibly get a better barrel(dunno what that is, but it looks like the infamous thunderpig) and mount a red dot, possibly get rid of the fake mag to make the package a bit lighter. Otherwise I like the setup quite a bit.

very very nice

ive been contemplating what hand guard would look the best for a SAW replica, and yours was perfect. Great taste. Just be carefull walking around with that haha.

I know you diddn't ask for a rateing but i give it a 9, give it a red dot. Mounting a forward hand grip on that would look sweet also.

This is what happens when a G36c and a M249 drink 2 bottles of tequila and
spend a night together.
The ammo drum is a good idea... but perhaps with a different rail kit.

lol, u've missed the point..  it's a Saw not all saw's are 249's etc..

I wanted something different that nobody has yet.. mission accomplished.  Thanks for the feedback however..

Oh.. i guess i missed the point because of your title.
Nice touch with the live ammo appearance. Is the drum hollow or did you fill
it with expanding insulation?

myself I am like what the hell is a thunderpig? lol  never heard of it.

The Barrel on there is a CMI and I love it..  Shoots excellent, is very accurate  and it thunders!.. and for $20.00 bucks on ebay.  It shoots better than the opsgear interceptor barrel I also have at a fraction of the cost.

i thought of doin a similar set up to make a saw style gun. but i thought of taking the drum and turning it into a hopper. by turning it sideways it has a narrow profile and could probably hold close to 300 rounds.

Very nice setup...personal recommendation though, paint the ammo box flat black to make it look more real and match the rest of the marker. Over all, good to go...

I would do something about the foregrip. I would look into a real M249 carry handle/foregrip, and mod it to fit.

i dont know man that looks like alot of show, what kind of e-grip do u have on it because if u have a tippmann made e-grip on it then I wouldnt call it a heavy gunner, its only 15-17 balls a second. If u call that a heavy gunner a good angle would tear that thing apart.

Uhhh... it's intended target is paintball players, not a battalion of charging hopheads with machetes.
If 900rds/min (15/sec) is not enough firepower for someone in the world of paintball... they either have too much money to spend on paint, or suck so bad as to be beyond any descriptive words.

How many bps would you have on a heavy gunner.

Thanks for the responces guys.

1. Snake.. I understand your idea. however  this is not a M249 saw.. it's a MG 43 saw that H & K makes.  There are actually 9 different versions of Squad automatic weapons out there.. We (the U.S.) just happen to use the 249 version.

my teammate Major actually has a exact replica 249 kit. with a real handguard modded to fit his gun.  Last thing I want to do is copy his mod exactly.

I am adding a few things soon,  Longer barrel, carry handle which has to be ordered from Japan and a QEV  and then it wil be finished.

Actually gooey11.. The S.A.W. has a W.A.S. board in it.  It has been timed twice now and it will shoot 405 balls in 16 seconds flat.  That's plenty enough for me.
