Here's my A-5, the colour it appears with the flash looks very
different from what it normally does, and in normal daylight it's much
darker and greener. Don't know why it came out like that. The top pic came out closest to the true colour.

And here's my girlfriend's gun, again the colour came out wierd... i
photoshopped the last one to be as close to the true colour as i could
get.

It looks much more purple-ly in person :P hope you enjoy!
PS I need ideas on some extra designs i could stencil in, especially
for the a-5. If there's anything anyone wants to see, give me a
suggestion and if I like it I may do it :)

Nice job on both markers. Have you tried taking the pics without the flash?
...and how did you convince your girlfriend to play? Tell us your secret!!!

lol... first of all, no, i didn't try without the flash... and yes,
it's more like OD green but not exactly, it's close to "Dark Angels
Green" from the warhammer line of paints if that helps anyone (Just a
bit lighter).
And I didn't have to talk my girlfriend into playing, just into getting
a gun :P She just enjoys the game, so I offered to lend her half
the money for her Cpro and ofcourse, paint it purple. Musta been
the purple. I personally think it looks amazing in that colour
and i'd play with it myself :P
BTW, the top pic for the A-5 is the closest to true colour, but it's still too light and blue-ish.

You should try to paint the red dot sight too...
I had bought my gf the Zeus G2+ and she likes lightin' up the garbage cans
with paint but I don't think she's keen on getting lit up herself.
So naturally... i get to use the Zeus as a backup.
More than likely it was an excuse to justify buying the pistol...haha

very good looking paintjob mate.
where did you get the paint from? i wanna paint mine a white-ish color, but alas i know nothing about painting raw aluminum. i chemically stripped my recievers so its all set to go. also, how about a clear coat? did you use one?
Thanks

nope, i just painted over the original coat, because it's the rough
paintjob the new tippmanns come with. It'll need touchups in a
year and a half, but what gun wouldn't anyways?
If you want to prime the aluminum get the self-etching stuff.. it
melts itself into the aluminum and keeps other paints stuck to it well.
The paint i used was some fine textured stuff from walmart, i don't remember the name of the stuff.

Heh heh heh... Gun shots. I remember one time i shot my team captain
(it was a scrimmage, i didnt shoot my own team mate relax) right in the
side of his gun. I was hiding at 10 feet away from him and i took one
shot to go undetected. I hit him in the side of the gun, and he has the
M82A1 shroud from opsgear. He was happy/angry. Happy that he had a
player who could do that, but mad that he had to get the paint out of
the holes.

How is that Apex barrel? Ive seen the ads on it, but i dont believe it
would work like it says it does. Some of the pictures seem believable
but some show the ball turning at a 90 degree angle to hit the guy
hiding behind the tree.

meh i havn't seen the apex shoot anything near 90 degrees. he says it's worth it, but then again he was amused when the shot curved slightly. i just need to find a shooting range near us so we can test it outfully. and yes the 98 has a small hopper, but i hate the big ones and i never use much paint. though i'll probably start complaining about it when i run out of ammo half-way through a game.

Well it won't make a straight 90 degree angle, but it will curve into one. I haven't been able to test this myself, but i've seen many videos of people playing around with the APEX and it does what they claim. I don't have a link, but if you email me I can send it to you.
Basically a guy stands there with 2002 "Excallibur" filled with a bunch of random paint and just fires a bunch of shots in the distance and around a tree and stuff. If you look carefully you can actually see the paint curve completely and come out the other side of the tree.
It's pretty accurate too, and not paint picky at all, the curve shots would just take a bit of trial and error.
