i just got a flatline system for my 98 custom, now i thought i had it shooting straight, and i heard from the owner of a field that i play at that you have to take it apart and adjust the barrel manually, so i did this and got it to work properly, but i went out in my backyard after playing for several hours out in the woods the other day and shot off a few rounds and every one of them curved horribly. do i need to continually take the barrel apart and adjust it?

Once you get it right don't mess about with it.

You  might  have  to  re-adjust  the barrel.  Also  if your velocity  is too  high  it will  cause  the balls  to  curve wildly,  so first  just try  lowering  your velocity first and  if that  doesn't  help  adjust  the  flatline.

yea once you have it right do not toy with it , the velocity like he said can make balls curve if it is to high , you will want your gun shooting around 270.  This might be obvious but if a ball broke inside the barrel the accuracy will become really bad also.

It could been a lot of things. You could have broke a ball, which as PB said will cause the Flatline to have horrible accuracy. I doubt that it un-adjusted itself so severely, just out of the blue.

I have a flatline on my A-5 and I have used poor quality balls and high end balls... Good balls make one heck of a difference. keep barrel clean and dry. If your gun still does not shot straight, try to look down the barrel close up and see how the ball comes out.

Two A-5 owner.

Make sure your gun is oiled up. my flatline was not shooting like it should, and oiling all my internals solved my problem.

Was there a slight wind outside? The slightest bit of wind will throw off the flatline's accuracy. As will any differences in paint size. It's also not the most consistant barrel out there, so you are going to get some erratic shots.

I understand that when you get it right, not to mess with it. But what
happens when you get a break and have to clean it. Don't you have to go
through the re-adjustment process?

Also, weather affects the flatline alot. On a warm summer day it shoots beautifully, on a foggy, humid, late fall day, not so well.

With the flatline paint and velocity consistancy are the kays to success(along ith having it properly installed).

Make sure the paint your using is high quality, and small-medium bore. The paint should be able to easily roll through the barrel.

If you get a ball break, take some cotton balls in alchohol and shoot them through the barrel. This works well for in game cleaning if you carry a plastic baggy with them in it.
