Subject: 18th century speechs

im doing a project for my english class. the project is to compair two writings/speechs in my case subject is: taxation. im having a bit of a problem finding writings on taxation from the 18th century. anyone know of the name of a speech i can google, or have a link? i have done a couple google searches (in the last 35 minutes) but no hits. help me if you can.

gosh i cant believe i misspelled the thread topic name.

The wealth of nations by john lock? That might help you. It's an entire book on many economic issues, taxation being one of them.

I think you mean The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith.  Published 1776.  John Locke did write on economics (as well as everything else), but that one isn't one of his.

But given the 1000+ pages of fine print in The Wealth of Nations, it might be hard to skim through for your presentation...

i dident read any of the replies. i would go to the school libary and ask their. many schools have online databases where you can pull all the info you want.
