I can't get either of these two pins out, is there some sort of secret I'm missing or do I have to apply some excessive force?

They should push out. Try pushing a little harder.

I got it, I had to push A LOT harder, I used a hammer and put all my weight on it,and they came right out, 1 had an odd defect in it, it looks like a deep scrape of some kind.

Sorry for double post but getting them back in is just as hard as getting them out, I believe the hole it goes in is just a liitle small is there any way that doesn't involve a drill press that I can fix this with? Bear in mind I just got the gun today, and I don't know a whole lot about the internals and how to open it up, etc.

This happened with the safety on my brothers 98c. Just keep taking them out an putting them in, that should wear them to shape.
If that doesnt work take it to a shop and see if they recommend milling.
On the one with the scrape, look into the hole. does it have any obstructions sticking out that would cause that scrape?

Make sure the grip is in the correct place over the holes, or you wont be able to get the pins back in.

Those are hard for me to get in and out too. Don't drill anything, sometimes you have to push on your grip a little bit, or take pressure off your grip.

Nice A5 pic, if I have trouble with my A5, I'll do what you did, stick it in paint and color where the problem is, good luck with the pins.

had the same problems before when I first cleaned my marker. Had to move the grip around a little bit to loosen, and push out the pin. After a little while of pushing it in/out, the pins were easier to remove and place back in.

You can use a round file to smooth out the holes in the receiver. Don't file off too much. If you don't have a file, you can roll some sandpaper around a small screwdriver or other similar piece of metal and sand out the insides of the holes.

Jab an allen key against them the first few times. I've had mine a few months now and they're just easy enough to pop out now.

I use a rubber mallet and then a chisel with tape on sharp side and ply it out of the other side
