that's beastly. I'm a big fan of milisim and that's one of the best M4's I have ever seen.

do you guys have any suggestions or anything?
right now, i its as real as its possible to get with an a5 (other than an air-thru mag, but those make the a5 look aukwardly long)

The ape board has a push button to change modes but they are working on an external switch with the Milsim player in mind
quotes from APE engineer BitBanger on the APE forum
"We're considering the implementation of an aftermarket firing mode button that would work in conjunction with the Rampage Board. "
"We're entertaining several options on this implementation. The front running option at this time is that the switch attachment accessory could be configured to require a tool to operate, making it legal on pay-per-play fields.
When not playing on pay-per-play, one could thread in an extension operator to the accessory and operate the switch without tools.
As another option we're also thinking about remotely placing the LED in this same accessory. "
"You'd have access to the switch from the rear of the grip... no more flipping the gun around to poke the selector switch from the trigger side of the grip. It would operate "tourney legal" requiring a tool, and would also support external access by threading in an extender. "

Wow! That's a helluva lot of hardware!!!
Airsoft parts? Or do you have an AR?
I know BUIS and stuff aren't cheap add ons!
Right now you have more accessories on your A5 than I do on my RRA!

o ok, ill look forward to that
as for the parts, most of them are real, but a couple of them are airsoft (still all metal though), like the middle rail on the right in the right and the ACOG scope in the third picture
and no, i dont have a real firearm that i got this all from, i just had a summer job and nothing to buy...mwuwhahaha

That's really nice. I love how you have all the accessories there lol. One suggestion (yea you all know what I'm going to say), move that mag well and magazine back towards the trigger frame! It's too far forward to look realistic.

there will be a sticky thread soon if it isnt up already called
"february TOTM" or something like that, just post your pics there as a
reply, the judges will pick the top 5 that they like, and everyone else
votes on the best of those 5.
very nice a5. im glad you kept it nice and clean, i really hate
it when milsimers just jam everypossible weaver accesory they can
find.

thanks again everbody!
Warbreak2099, I considered moving the mag so it would be gas through, but after some careful measurments on a relative's ar, i decided it would look worse if I were to have a gas through mag....on a real m4 type rifle, the receivers are not nearly as (proportionally) long, and on an a5, when you have a gas through mag, there is too much space between the Handguard/barrel and the clip, where as on a real AR there is hardly any space
(also, it would not be removable if it were to be gas through, which i think is one of its greatest attributes)

Ah, I see. I think it would look more realistic with the clip moved back. Maybe not perfect, but that's because the A-5 isn't the greatest platform for an AR15 based milsim mod. Now the Carbine series guns...

yeah...well my gun is really based off of the new HK 416, but its basically the same thing as an M4 but with a HK grip (mp5 style) grip, just like the a5.....i just said an m4 because theyre pretty close, and nobody really knows what the 416 is yet (but they will soon snce it outperforms the m4/16 so well)

There are alot of renditions of the M4 out there, but this one by far is the sharpest looking M4 I have seen. It's exact and clean, and I want to hump it...sorry.

haha thanks...it think?..yeah my goal was to replicate the real steel as closley as possible while keeping it "clean," unlike most of the milsim m4/16 type mods
as for the front sight, it came like that...i beleive it is the rap4 one, but im no 100% sure because i bought it off ebay...it fits/works perfecttly though on the bigshot
