I am new to the gun, but not the sport.
My goal is to build the fastest most accurate A-5 that will be durable and easy to maintain.
I currently play both Woods and Indoor speed/air ball. I play forward and middle depending on the team, and would like to show that this gun is a good overall performer.
My current gun has the following upgrades:
Tippmann Expansion Chamber, Braided stainless line, E-Grip, JCS Dual Trigger, shocktec drop forward, and multiple barrels including the Dye Excel and a J&J Ceramic.
Keeping in mind my goals and play is there something additional I can add? Is there an upgrade to the cyclone feeder that improves ball feed? Seems that as I approach higher BPS the feeder gets pretty rough on balls.
Thanks

I would change out the X-Chamber for a Palmers Stabilizer. Get the QEV mod for your cyclone(this will help with the ROF), a WAS board, and HPA.

The was and qev will just make the gun into a faster paint blender.
You need to use good quality paint with a hard shell like marbs or nelsplat. Marbs are good but they cost money and would be a little small for your J&J so you lose efficiency. Nelsplat is more affordable and matches the J&J bore perfectly and has a super hard shell which is good since it is less likely to be blended by the cyclone but will give your opponents more bounces at long ranges.
Also try not to top off the hopper when filling. If you do, you're more likey to chop. I like to use my R5 hopper which has more volume than the stock and is clear so I can mark a visable fill line which allows me to fill it with a little more than a pod of paint.

The cyclone feed virtually eliminates any chops that would occur in the breach of the gun.

Yes, that is true, but the cyclone can still chop if you use crappy paint and/or top off the hopper.

okay, cyclone is good but heres my $.2
Hopper: Qloader A-5 kit, incredibly fast, light, and relatively cheap. Amazing speed and efficiency.
Barrel: Pick up the Empire 11 Piece or 7 piece kit for around 120-200, or you could invest in a Lapco Snapshot kit, featuring three bore sizes and 12 and 14" backs. This'll be around 200.
Aftermarket Board: APE or WAS are good, I'd try out the APE just because its new and has more mods and is cheaper, or you could go w/ the WAS, either would be fine because most fields don't allow a lot of their settings. With these you could easily outperform anything. Price: $50-100.
Air System: If you play mid to back, I'd suggest a 68ci tank and a LPK kit. Thats expensive, but it'd be worth it.
That'd be my ultimate setup, and plus you can do a few mods to it, but thats up to you.

not that cheap
halos and prolly a centerfeed kit are cheaper
that would be ultimate A-5

I didn't even think you could CF a A-5, I've never seen an a-5 with that, do you have a pic, cuz i think that'd be tight to see.
It really wouldn't be cheap, but he did say the "ultimate A-5" not the "cheapest ultimate a-5"

Isn't the x-chamber and the palmers the same effect? What is the QEV mod?
As for an upgradable board...Ape or WAS are both good, but I think I have something .......

GOod Info and I should have included this. I shoot PMI premium paint. A lot of Marballizer...
I already blend paint with a high ROF and the stock A-5 star feeder, but the fill height is a good thought that I'll explore.
THanks

No, Palmers is a Regulator and an X Chamber is a X Chamber. Two different things. Palmers>X Chamber any day of the week.

alot of good suggestions here.
I would get a plamer stabilizer as well as a low pressure kit. this will allow you to fire more consistant shots. as for the ROF, your egrip will do just fine, but try a cyclone system. the q-loader does have a faster feed rate, but can get quite costly.

Alright, so it sounds like a Palmers Stablizer, and a low pressure kit is all key here.
What about the QEV set-up? Is there a brand or a basic list of parts that are better than the others? Is the upgrade worth it?
Thanks for the info. Let me know what you think.

Before you do anything, INVEST IN A GOOD QUALITY HPA TANK!!! Don't be going out and getting the Palmers Stab and the LPK and the WAS or APE board if you've still got a 20oz. Get an HPA tank FIRST.

i dont think the low pressure kit will help u out that much. definately better things you can do than that. hpa tank, board, qev for cyclone, then a reg or stabalizer.

Sorry for the dumb question, but can you shot an A5 on an HPA tank without a low pressure kit?
