A)ok so i play paintball about every weekend.. i got plenty of $ so that isnt an issue.. i just want to know wich barrel is best for shooting VERY accurate at long ranges.. like the size of a football feild. speed doesnt matter..

B)ive seen flatlines for the A-5 and they are very good, are they as good on the 98c?

i want only the facts, not this "i heard" stuff.

The Flatline is an aight barrel. See, the Flatline offers great range (distance), but not so good accuracy. Now, there is a barrel out there that offers the best of both worlds. This is the BT Apex. Not only does it offer great range, but the accuracy is pretty goot too. Not to mention it can shoot around trees, over bunkers, etc. I suggest you take a good look at it.

Welcome newcomer! I cannot suggest anything in paintball that will go as far as a football field literally...i think anything over 150 feet is pretty good if you can maintain accuracy at that distance and on word.

Speaking from experience, if you want extreme range with accuracy you might want to look into a barrel kit. The Flatline shoots far, but not accurate and is a pain with most paint as the barrel is difficult to clean out at times.

I use a Lapco Bigshot 14". It shoots far, but more importantly it shoots dead on! You won't get all the range in the world with a Bigshot, but more accuracy. Thier are not many setups that combine the best of both worlds for barrels.

If you like to stay back and give covering fire, the flatline is an excellent 'support' weapon. I also personally dislike the weight of the FL as well. My BigShot is 1/4 the weight.

For the best accuracy possible, get a Smart Parts freak kit.

All striaght barrles shoot the same range. The effective arnage of a striaght barrel is around 75 ft. THe flatline/Apex systems have good range around150ft, but the accuracy at long ranges suffers greatly. Also the paintballs lose velocity at the same rate as a normal barrel, so at 150ft with a flatline, the ball might only be traveling 100fps. Therefore, if you do get an accurate shot off at those ranges the chance of getting a break on your target is slim to none.

I'd go with a apex (If you want the distance over the accuracy), but a Lapco Bigshot or JJ ceremic (If you want accuracy over distance)

I personally love the Stiffi. Its super lightweight, its quiet, and its accurate.  It cleans itself pretty good too.  Like Snake said, every barrel besides the Flatline and the Apex get the same amount of range, so just get alittle closer and range won't be a problem.

If you want full details, go to http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/1660/ - http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/1660/  That will answer all your questions. But don't pay 110$ for it, you can get one off of Ebay for $90 shipped. It's a great barrel, I use it on my Custom Pro.

paintball is not a sport made to go a football field long. its a close range sport. so i would say go with the Smart Parts All American, Boomstick, Ultralight, a stiffi...or a barrel kit. Smart Parts Freak kit, CP kit, JnJ kit

The Type of barrel you get is all about personal Preference, depending on whether you play woodsball, speedball, etc.. some barrels can go all ways but in each area lack something minor.  If you definately know what your going to play you should base your barrel of that.  If you dont know, just wait a little see what you like and browse the net for something that suits you best.
