Hi guys, I am pretty new here and I was wondering if some tippmann veterans could lend a hand with my problem. I recently purchased a ex-rental pro-lite and I am trying to remove the valve assembly, and the powertube for cleaning/repair. The marker acutally works fine, no leaks but it is very dirty inside.

I unscrewed everything including the brass valve screw, air line, velocity screw, removed front/rear bolt, trigger frame, ect. But to my dismay, I cannot push out the powertube/valve out to the rear of the marker. I read somewhere that you must insert a long object (dowel rod) into the powertube to push it out, but that won't budge anything, it seems the valve is jammed in the reciever. I would appreciate any help at this point, thanks in advance.

You should just be able to push it out like you said. Maybe it is really just jammed in there and you just need to push really hard. There is a good chance that the valve in that gun has never been removed and all the years of debris building up inside could have just caked it into place. If you are 100% posative that everything is out, all the lines, and screws, etc. then I would say just put some muscle into it. I know that Air Tipps makes a special valve removing tool for the pro-lite/ carbine series, you might want to try that, but you shouldn't need it.

Is the power tube out of the marker...in your hand? If not the two screws on the right half of the shell are still holding the valve in place.

It wasn't clear, you have unscrewed the braided hose from the valve body?

Once the power tube is out of the marker in your hand the power valve will virtually fall out into your hand. If there is a terrific amount of gunk "gluing" things together you can exert some pressure with your dowel rod down the thin forward tube, with the velocity screw removed, to push the valve out.

I realized that the valve stop is underneath the threaded screw insert. That piece is so tiny. But to answer your question, yes I did remove the brass screws, basically every screw on/in the body. The powertube is in the marker still, and that wont budge. But I will try to remove the tiny valve stop first. Will keep this updated. Thanks Bruce.

I know how the Pro_Lite works but I have never had an opportunity to try to get that moving valve out of the body...and I cannot find a detailed enough diagram of how the Pro_Lite valve is retained in the marker body. I don't know if removing the valve stop will help, but when all else fails remove everything that can be.

The moving valve that opens both ends at the same time is certainly interesting, but Tippmann Secretary appears to disavow any knowledge of it so, Mr. Phelps, if caught...no, no, I mean, when disassembling you are on your own.

I had this problem on my Pro/Carbine. What I did is let it soak in that oil(I can remember what it was called for the life of me) that lossens things up for a couple of daysand I was able to push it right out.

Have you tried tapping the powertube lightly with a dowel rod and a hammer?

Did you remove the velocity adjuster screw from the underside of the gun? It threads into the powertube and will prevent it from removing.

The brass air fitting in the valve, the velocity adjuster screw, and (if it hasnt fallen out and gotten lost) there is a small square piece of metal that fits in a slot underneath the front gripframe threaded insert.

When all those are removed, the valve and powertube should be able to be pushed out from the front with a long stick or some such fairly easily. If it hasnt been maintained for a while, it might take some force.

i see this is about valves, so i wont make a new thread. the valve on a 98: when i pushed it out the brass thing in the end facing towards the front went in about 5mm. is this going to be a problem? if so, how do i fix it?
