Yea so, recently I've been displeased with firefox. It has a memory leak and right now its eating 73mb memory and i only have one tab open. This window. I have 1 gig of ram, but its the principle of the thing. I may be in the market for a new browser soon.... -------------

That's becuase you never closed it before, it just adds up over time if you never close out of it completely, it's crazy. Just close out of it, and open it again.

When you close tabs it doesn't remove the data that it had stored from the memory. It's actually a worse problem in the linux version. -------------

I've been using Opera as my main browser for a while now. It seems a little faster and I just like the look and feel of it with the skin I have applied. That and the fact that since I got a new google account firefox refuses to automatically log into my new one on start up instead of my old one and opera hasn't exhibited such a problem so far. Gotta love stuff that works.
ps Opera has never done that annoying "choose the account to start firefox with so you can't access your bookmarks" thing either.....I think if Opera had the support and community behind it that firefox does it would definately give it a run for it's money.... -------------  |

To be fair, Firefox and Opera each have their faults, they are still far from perfect... but they're both still vastly superior to IE.
I enjoy Opera more because I find it runs much smoother. It still has some display problems with some websites, but normally FF has the same issues. Plugin support is almost there aswell. In any event...  -------------

I have both opera and firefox downloaded, but I hardly ever use the opera. Just never got used to it.
