Nope, pretty much every marker works slightly different.

No. As Snake said, you have all different kind of markers, and each operate differently. Mainly, you have two different categories of markers: Mechanical as in Tippmanns, and Electro's as in Angels. Now within each category you have sub categories, in which different guns fall.

Basically you have a high pressure air source hooked up to a valve.
When you pull the trigger, it will open the valve (either with a bolt or some kind of electronic aid), releasing a short burst of very fast air. This air propels the paintball forward out the barrel, and another drops in.

Very general statement^^^^
C-3s work totally different, and there are different ways of opening the valve etc. I'm not sure if cockers even have valves...

Looking for anything more specific?

Tippmann is evil. The A-5 is a Demon. It fires like hell spitting fury against all who oppose it. Ions are powered by magic fairy dust. (no pun LPK)

ok, lets say a tippmann 98, you cock the bolt, the bolt opens space for a ball to drop in, when you pull the trigger it trips the sear which lets go of the bolt then the valve opens shoots out air to propel the ball out, then blows the bolt back into place so another ball can get in.

98% of ion owners think ions are better than any high end gun. If you would like to bonus ball these idiots put this in your sig.

You could try using proper sentence structure, capitalize "I" and put an apostrophie in "don't" :P

No.  Autocockers have very small monkeys living inside of them that simply wait to be told what to do.  If it weren't for the monkeys, and God, (who obviously infuses His power into the operation of every properly tuned Autococker) they would not fire.
