Im looking to upgrade my tippmann and know little about what to do

I have an original Model 98 not a custom or custom pro and would like to run nitrogen or compressed air if this is possible. I would like to know the best way to do this.

Again I have an original 98. Already I have a vertical Adapter with an expansion chamber and a flatline barrel, and I'm currently running CO2 and not very happy with the performance. Havent been in the game for a couple of years so not up to date on all the new upgrades and such so take it easy if what Im asking defies science and such.

if you know how to reassemble the marker back to stock, that would be good.  You would not need the expansion chamber when you switch over to compressed air.  All you need to do is just purchase the Nitro/Compressed air tank and twist it in.

so your saying my stock 98 will shoot alright with compressed air instead of doing something else to it? again im new at this but i always felt that a 98 was more of a CO2 gun and that it would need to be upgraded in order to shoot compressed air or nitrogen. but if this is not the case please explain why because again i am learning all of this stuff.

The valve in the 98 was designed for CO2.  It can handle it better than most other guns.  You don't really "need" any upgrades to use nitro.  Just make the reg on the tank is high pressure (800-850psi) and you'll be fine.

ok so all i need is a tank and im good to go, sweet, now the tank has to be high pressure, ok. now the tank im looking for, will it be able to shoot both nitrogen and compressed air?

also this is probably a stupid question but what would happen if i just left my expansion chamber on my gun and ran the tank through that, would it matter at all cause i really like the grip and feel of it

Air is made up of mostly nitrogen....

You can use the X chamber with air/nitro with no problems.

Those tanks are fine but the tippmanns eat a lot of gas so I would recommend a 68/4500 carbon fiber tank if you a little more to spend.  I got mine for about a $100.  Otherwise just stay with CO2 a little longer and save $$$.

wazzup..

here it goes.. if you leave the x-chamber on you can do both gasses without any freezing up. i shoot nitro, but you can use any type of compressed air really. if you want a cheap long-term option, you can get a scuba tank from a dive shop and just fill up your tanks to pressure. that way you don;t have to spend a lot of money on a fiber wrapped tank, you can just get a steel pmi tank on good old ebay for under $75 with shipping, ( just PM me for specific details. ) and just keep filling it up. or if you go to the proshop its usually like $1 for 1,000psi of N2 or Compressed air. so its even cheaper for me to shoot nitro, the investment is the tank. if you get a 4500psi tank (1200-1500 shots) it is more expensive than the 3000psi tank (800-1000 shots), so its really dependent on what your playing style is. i have two 3k tanks when i play and both thanks cost less than my 4.5K fiber stubby. but with all three, i can leave my co2 at home without worries of running out of air in the woods. my cost to play on sunday is a cheapo kmart case of paint and less than $10 of air. ( i use the cheap stuff because with all my mods there is really no difference in shooting quality compared the expensive pro-shop paint ).

the bonus of nitro is that i can play all year long, even some snow ball here in MA. its nice to play in the snow and not shoot that co2 snow out the gun. all in all you will notice an overall improvement when you make the switch, also, no more co2 ping from the frozen tank. ( which means somewhat quieter shots )

i hope my rant was somewhat informative, good luck , and PM me if you need any further info.
