I've never dont anything terribly bad, but I got a good story my brother did.
We were playing out in natural woods, so natural there were cows in it.
We floated down river in a conoe till we found a good spot to play. The
cows would cross the streams to other islands of woods and so forth. So
we started playing, and tried ignoring the occasional cow that came to
see what we were up to. Well my brother took off running in the woods
during one game, and slipps and falls in a fresh cow pie. He was
covered from head to toe in cow poo and since he didnt have a change of
clothes he was forced to keep the clothes on untill we canoed back to
the truck.

When I came back to the game after taking a long time away, I found out
a lot of things had changed. For instance, semi-auto markers had
become common, full face protection was required (no more shop
goggles), and they had these safety device thingys called barrel
plugs.
One day, after only being back in the game a couple of weeks, I found
myself in a position where I had a chance to outflank the opposing team
while the rest of my team was pinned down. There was this wide
(25 ft or more) ditch than ran between the road and the main playing
area. Usually, it was a playable area as the road was 15 feet
straight up from it and it was only a few feet lower than the main
area, but on this day it was partially flooded and very muddy.
There were enough people on each team (over a dozen) that the defending
team was able to set up so they had a firing line all the across the
field from this ditch to the river on the other side. They had
also located so that anyone who wanted to deploy on their postions had
to cross an open area with sparse ground cover and just a few good size
trees. Since they had also established interlocking fields of
fire so that the tree trunks could not be used for cover, the game
stalemated shortly after we entered the field; we couldn't approach
them without taking heavy losses, and they had no need to move out
towards us. I was on the far right of our skirmish line, taking
cover behind the edge of the ditchline and trying to keep my feet out
of the water when I noticed a way to move forward; while the other team
had several people watching my side of the field, they didn't have
anyone right on the ditch edge. I backed off a bit, dropped to my
stomach and started crawling. I had to stay pretty low because
the ditch, as I mentioned before, was only two feet or so lower than
the field. Once I got far enough along that I didn't want to go
back I realized that do to the growth along the edge of the ditch I was
going to have to crawl through the water and mud. I decided to go
for it and was careful to keep my marker out of the water as I crawled
forward, although, I did get the occasional splash through the
bottom of my mask. Once I was behind the other team, I
realized that they had posted a rear guard that would have to be
eliminated first. I approached him by crawling up a much smaller
ditch that while not filled with water, was not as deep and still quite
muddy. To make my approach even more difficult, this guy was really
alert. He was looking all around him and not fixating on anyone
direction. I had to actually put my mask in the mud to approach
him, but I finally got into position. I waited a few moments for
him to look away and lifted up and fired once he did. Paint
spewed from the porting of my Flatline as my barrel plug was launched
from the end of the muzzle. He turned and looked at me with a
stunned expression, probably because he didn't think anyone could have
gotton so close without him seeing them. (I was only about 25
feet away; I'd had to get close to be sure of the elimination because
of the intervening small branches.) Instead of firing again, I
froze. I was so stunned at my stupidity that I didn't even think
to fire again. He looked at me laying in the muddy ditch with my
marker pointed at him for a moment more then called himself out.
I assumed that he didn't want me to shoot at close range until I walked
up and found my barrel plug near where he had been hiding. When I
talked to him after the game, he told me he called out because he felt
a hit in the center of his back.

never a noob? that's like saying that you were never
a child.
My first time playing, a lot of guys were saying "Hey
princess, you ready to get out faster than blah blah
blah" I would get so mad. Little did they know that
"this little princess" is hell of a sprinter so I would
dash and get them out. I knew nothing about
paintball, but I was aggressive.

i never really did anything noone else has done. There was this one time when me and some buddies went (2nd time i had gone) and we decided to play speedball with some tourney players. right off the break, we where screwed. we all went behind 1 stand up. 6 kids behind one stand up.... imagine that.. i said "someone has gotta move" and i pushed my friend tom right in the middle of a lane and he got lit up. that's really the only funny story i remember that i was involved in, but i remember some pretty memorable newbies... like once i saw a cocky tourney player accedently pop one off in his barrel condom in the staging area. then he kept doing it so people wouldn't think he was stupid. another time, this one kid with a brand new A-5 with a flatline and crap was told to make like a tree. he took it a little to literal. he actually acted like a tree.... i can't see how people can hate newbs.... i mean, they're so comical, you have to love them

There's a kid like that at our field. He's got an A-5, Flatty, R/T, wears brown coveralls and sucks. We just call him A-5 kid. Anyway, this one time we were playing and these two middle eastern guys were renting. I was crouched behind a bush and one of them jumps around the corner less than 10 feet away and fires like 10 rounds. He missed all of them and I'm like "The hell?". So I turn and put 2 balls square into his chest. Then, get this, he start yelling and screaming at me about the 10 foot rule. My entire team just laughed at him for the rest of the time he was there.

there is this 10 year old kid whos been playing for a long time and it was funny cuz my friend is a built 15 year old and he was running to the next bunker and didnt notice the little kid behind it. so when my friend went to shot over the bunker the kid stood up and shot him but because of the cold it bounced (no1 knew of the bounce yet). My friend called a paint check and once the ref cleared him the kid was standing there litting him up....no joke that little kid is crazy and i luv 2 watch him beat out adults.....i have this memory and more but this really made me laugh...other than the time my friend shot my friend in the neck leaving a bumb and the kid who got shot retaliated by shooting him in the nuts (about 15 feet away)....

A couple years ago i was playing speed ball with a few friends. and one of my friends just got into paintball. well he had some plastic gun that broke right before we were going to play and a guy comes up to him with a karnivore and says " you can use this one for now!" i was pissed at the time i only had a tippmann 98 c (which is a good gun but doesnt have the speed). so my friend and i got on the same team, then we ran to a bunker me in front and i slid down to it. my friend tried to do the same thing and pulled the trigger on my back from point blank hitting me twice. I WAS P/O. but when he shot me in the back i jumped up and then got shot in the mask a couple more times. He said that the trigger was too sensitive. i still have the marks to this day

One of my buddies is in Crew(a christian campus ministry) and they decided that they were going to go paontballing and they were asked to invite people to come out. I have played paintball for some time, and it was a real ego boost playing with these guys. Anyway after we got done one of the refs talked them into playing a civil war skrimish and after it was over we were all standing around and some of them were screwing around dry firing there guns at one another and watching the frost from the co2 and some guy didn't realize he had one ball left and shot one of his buddies, no joke two feet axay barrel to balls right in the nuts. It was hilarious. The best part was that he wouldn't cuss and couldn't retaliate so he just kind of laid on the ground and made up words. It was really funny.

Hmm i don't have a story for me but, one day we were all playing out at my friend's family ranch and they were hiding behind the bank and just on the other side of the bank was their pond. We couldn't get a clear shot at them so we decided to sneak around the bank and do something stupid. We got in their 15' flatbottom boat and ducked down and just sat their and floated along the bank untill we were about 20' away from the short they were just sitting there looking confused since we had stopped shooting for five minutes. When they were directly infront of us the plan was to pop up from the boat and shoot both of them but my friend tried to stand up way to fast and slipped backward out of the boat with his gun and everything else right into the pond. It's about the funniest thing i've seen paintballing. So yeah there's my friends newb story.

I am still a noob yet somehow I have a few really good stories.
One of the most memorable was playing with my boy friend (one on one,
shot until someone empties their hopper - person hit most looses). It
was my first time firing at someone and being fired at. We were in natural
woods, I was sitting on the ground waiting for him to fire so I could listen
for where he was. He fired off a few shots and I looked in the direction
they came from and saw him get off the ground and start to run. I fired a
few shots and heard him scream a variety of words. When we were done
playing I found out I hit him in the hopper/back of the gun, the arm, the
back of the leg, and the butt (I really got a kick out of that).
The thing I found even more amusing was he didn't hit me once (at least
not in that particular go). He did hit my mask the next round. And he
accidently hit me point-blank in the arm (barel to skin) and rib during a
break. It didn't hurt that badly though.

Oh boy... I remember one time I went to a speedball field to play some paintball. So shortly after me and my friends show up, this group of like 20 drunken guys come in. They all rent a gun and 100 paintballs each. They go in to play and the ref splits up the teams. They start and everybody is just crazy. Nevermind the bunkers. And the ref said : "To get out, you have to get hit in the jewels." So as you can imagine, people where going right up to eachother and sticking barrels in their crotch. Then afterwards, everybody circled around one guy and lit him up. He probably got shot 1000 times. Afterwards, we found out the guy who got lit up was getting married the next morning.
Another story, somebody was shooting at me so I turned around to go find cover and all of a sudden I slip and I really badly sprain my finger. This was in the woods.
I also got shot in the tip of the carrot.
Oh and also one time, the last game of the night, we played and if somebody was out they would just go back to the starting area; we would do this until we where out of paint. So we start and all of a sudden I get shot in the mask. I go: Thats just great! So I continue and I can hardly see as it is so I advance and just shoot at anything that moves. It was blurry looking through the paint. And then I get hit in the mask like 3 more times. And then I just get hit every where else. I had a huge headache from getting shot in the head maybe 10 times. I was so lucky I didnt get shot in the jewels that time...
I've also shot out of my marker with the plug on...

Ive only been playin paintball for a bout two years now so my first year when i was eleven me and my friend went and we both sucked (him more than me) but we had a guy on our team who was hiding in the same bunker as us so he sed he was going to run out and for us to cover him so he runs out around the back and crosses my friends line of fire ,gets hit and screams "what the you stupid kids which one of you shot me" so ofcourse we both point at eachother

While stories about less experienced players are pretty amusing, try to remember that its much better to help out the person than make fun of them. Making fun of somebody for being ignorant just isn't cool.
I've been playing for 5 years, one of the most experienced at my field. Every time I go out to play I always help out the people that ask. When I get hit I just put my gun down at the entrance but stay in the game to watch the "noobs", then give them tips after the game. Most are very accepting.

I remember when I was newer at the game and I had decided to play more aggressively that day. I advanced pretty far up the field and had a great position, but I felt I needed back-up. When I look back I see a teammate just standing there in the open staring at me. I wave for him to advance with me and he just continues to stare. Then he raises his gun and shoots me.
He wasn't on my team, and teams there wear colored helmets, yellow or blue. I'd forgotten which one I was. We'd been flanked so badly that I was the only one left and only because I'd gone so far ahead.

Not a noob story but a girlfriend to one of the guys I played with was out of paint and didn't feel like getting more and just felt like having some fun. So she is in spandex with a 98 custom. This is a night scenario game and so she decides she will just keep running into enemy territory just shooting air and with it being so dark they might retreat or something or surrender. The enemy side got mad at her for overshooting them. The refs told her to stop overshooting and she told them she was just shooting air. They were kinda puzzled.

I see that happen surprisingly often. I've done it before as well. It doesn't occur to many people that they've just greased the inside of their barrel with paint either. They play on.
Last year I was playing and just as the game was ending I was advancing along the side of the field and I found a gun on the ground. It was loaded, gassed up, and just sitting there. I picked it up and found a ref. The kid who'd rented it got hit, dropped it, and ran like hell.

one time i was paintballing ( it was my 3rd time) and i was hiding in the edge of a forest and there was about a 2 meter gap then a hill which i wanted to hide behind. so i ran to the hill and almost got hit then i dove behind the hill and landed right in a prickley bush. i jumped up and yelled " OWWW" and got smoked right on the back of the head with a paintball. turns out there was a guy on the other side of the hill laying down and when i jumped up he shot me. it hit me so hard it actually knocked me over

Here's a newb story for you. I've been playing this game so frikken long that they handed us .68 specials and brand new pro-ams at the field when we upgraded to semi from pump for $15 extra. Not to mention the fact that paint was $100/1000. I remember that Sears was the only place around that carried ANY equipment and they only sold paint pre-packaged in 10rnd tubes. I made 200 rounds in my hopper last ALL DAY I had about 50 left over and the field would "save" them for you until you came to play the next time. Needless to say, it's been a while since that first game. Oh, we also had real explosive paint grenades! Those were FUN!

This isn't about me but; the first time I went paintballing, my friends and I were getting our gear together and there was a field right next to where we set up (with a net in-between of course). I turned to watch a game that had just started and was able to see the break out. This kid sprinted to about the 30 while shooting and didn't see the bunker he was running at. He slammed into it at full speed and almost knocked it over. The funny thing was that he lokked around to see if anyone saw him, then just stood up and acted like nothing had happened. Watching him made me feel better about being a newb. The only stupid thing I did that day was call for a paintcheck and take a step out of my bunker so the ref could see me. Needless to say I got lit up pretty bad.

The second time my sister ever played paintball, she was out in the staging area with her friend and I. The particular field we were at used barrel plugs. Both of them were fooling around so she pointed the gun at his face, shot from about 3 feet away, and the barrel plug came flying out and hit him right in the lip. She hasn't done anything stupid like that since.

I was playing with some friends in a backyard (thick woods) and his gf showed up. She decided to play and of course they were on the same team. She put on a bright red sweatshirt (in the woods mind you) and they started making out. One of my teammates came up on them and shot them both and you just heard her scream. It was funny.

Hmm...
Last week I was playing renegade for the first time in a year or two (and I remembered how much field play is better), and it was about 50* out and drizzly. I couldn't see crap with my thermals and a fan (eventually got to the point where I'd shoot at the moving blurs), so most people were taking off their masks because they couldnt see anything with beginner masks. None the less, one kid (who should have known better given his expierence) got hit right below his eye. If he had moved a half inch he would be blind.
And most people who have been playing for a long time still do the barrel plug thing.

-ok It was our first time playin ever.Me and my friends were all put on one team and after a few minutes into the game all of us were eleminated....all but my boy B(the white guy in my sig)! He was the only on left and he thought he had the other team on the ropes cuz he thought he knew where the group was. little did he know that there was one guy that was coming around from the other side and he shot B in the A$$ point blank!! It was so funny be cause it happened right infront of the waiting area, so everybody busted out laghing!! Now his kick name is sgt. assshot!!
-There was onther one from that day were there was this lil boy,had to be around 8 or 9. The game had stARTED and I was leaning behind a tree waitin for the other team to come down. Then this lil guy wants to choose me as his buddy in the field! And here is the convo:
8yr old:Do you see them?
me:Nah
8:You sure
me:yeah
8:Well when you see them let me know cuz I'm ready!! I'm ready to go!!I'm ready for them!!When you shoot Imma shoot!
So I laughed at how pumped he was to play but he could barely lift the gun! Not to metion all this talkin that he's doin is gonna give me away. So I told him to run to the next tree becuz we can't both fit behind the same tree,I would cover him. I told him to run and when he ran,I know I was wrong, But I didn't cover him. A few min. later I'm out and he's still playin. Karma!! But if he didn't leave my side I would've been gone much quicker!!

We went to a field not too long ago and about 25-30 players showed up that had never played. There were about 10-12 of us that had our own equipment so we decided to try a game of renters vs owners. We set it up as attack and defend. First they had to defend this little base in the mid of the field and we attacked. (Now to the funny part) We explained to them that when they were hit call out and walk off of the field with their hand raised or gun raised so they wouldnt get shot at. Well it seems some of them didnt get that memo because as soon as they got out they would put their hand up, run, then drop their hands and hide behind something in fear of getting shot again. by doing so everyone who had not shot them would fire again at them because they thought the poor kids were still in. They remembered to keep their hands up after that.

That seems to happen a lot... new players freaking out when they get shot...
I've another story: Playing at a woods field a few months ago, a few buddies and I were able to move up the entirety of the field along the tape running into one group of three opponents along the way. Once we got there, we found 12 (no joke, 12) first-timers all huddling together in the starting bunker. This is a 10+ acre field. In 20 minutes they hadn't moved out of the starting bunker. So my squad (and I) decide to swing around behind them and mercy them. We come around the corner (three of us, each wit our marker up and one of us with his pistol - I know, I know, pistol, but he insists on having one - in his second hand). What happens? All of them freeze with their hands up. Except one. In the confusion, he waits about 10 seconds, doesn't move, and after the third time of us yelling "MERCY MERCY MERCY", he decides to shoot. We didn't shoot back, as we knew they were first timers and didn't want to put them off... but the ref had a good time yelling at the kid.

i have a story about me but the story of "Revenge of the noob" has to be said
We (me and a friend) went to an indoor airball course. we played a couple games one some lost some. Then a kid with his dad (which neither of them had played before) walked on to the field with two 98c's. against them, from what i can remeber, a dm5, ion, and an angle. After seeing this i thought "here come the salughter. " the whislte blew the dad was taken out first. his son how looked like he needed a new change of pants hid in the snake and sat there. a person from the other side ran to the 50 bunker turned his back to the kid. the kid fired and missed by a whole state. the opponent turned fired and missed on purpose. by now me and my friend in our heads are screaming "fire". this happens about two more time until the opponent yells "we've won!". with those words the kids stands up and fires two shots get the opponent in the back of the head and square between the shoulders. Needless to say i was pleased as punch, and even let out a "Haza".

My first time paintballing at Skirmish USA I was pumped. My neighbor had an extra set of woodland camoes that he gave me and I had my stock Tippmann 98 Custom. We were in the woods and They had me and a couple of other guys stay on the right border and come behind them and shoot them up. Well I went around the whole map at a decent jog and We shot out the whole team. The ref blows the whistle and the time is up. We go up to the dead zone found out we lost and I am wondering how we lost. Our team says some guys flanked us from behind and killed us all. I noticed our blue tape on our arms and the blue tape on our team mates arm and I kind of put 2 and 2 together. I dont think it gets much noob then that.

Accidentally shot 6 members of our own team. All small children under the age of 12. Talk about sad.
Good thing there was some tool bag there that everyone hated, and he had the same mask as me. He got blamed, but I knew who the real culprit was

At my field when everyone would get hit they would go over to the side of the field and wait until the game is over. well there are these round target things hanging from the ceiling that people do target practise on. so in one game im still in and hiding behind a bunker while some guy stepped off the side to shoot at one of the target things and i thought he was in the game still so i shot at him a bunch of times and i felt really damn stupid lol.
