I just got a flatline for my 98 cstom and man, it works awesomely!! i dont understand all these people who say "the flatline sucks" "it chops balls" I was using probably some of the cruddiest paint u can buy. some brass eagle monster balls. i was shooting as fast as could with a double trigger and i had no breaks. what is up with these people who say all this bad stuff about flatlines?

Some people have problems, some don't. sometimes it's a problem with the barrel but a lot of the problems are created by the users. Not installed properly, not knowing how to clean it, not keeping it clean, using too high a velosity & such.....but It's great when it's working like it should.
Some players just don't like the flat trajectory because it looks like it's floating slowly along the flight but at equal distances the flatline balls are actully going considerably faster than a regular shot ball at the same distance. Pinpoint accuracy is also an issue as it doesn't seem to be as consistant as a good aftermarket barrel.

Most of the problems you hear are from people who don't know how to use it as pepprdog said. And most of the time you won't hear the Flatline is all-together bad, but just the accuracy isn't the best.

I play every saturday with monster balls, never had one break, they are 28.98 for 2000, we bought another brand of balls for 39.99 and they were horrible, i dont think monster balls are cruddy, but thats me.

It get's bad reps because it is one of only 2 barrels to add distance and many people use it as a "sniper" barrel, which gives it an even worse rep.
I would much rather have a Bigshot over one though because I'm more about accuracy then range.

In my experience for my A-5, I would prefer the Apex barrel, than my Flatline. With quality paint and smaller bore size, the Flatline/Apex has no problem. If you throw in some cheap recreational/house balls, the Apex has more tolerance for low quality balls, rather than the Flatline where it will shoot inaccurately and break balls more often than the Apex barrel.

Flatlines suck big time. You will figure that out in time. I had one and thought it was the best. But its not accurate. Distance is awsome but you cant hit any one if your not accurate. I sold mine and got a Bigshot. I love it.

The flatline can drive you crazy when your paintballs veer wildly off target. Under ideal conditions it works OK most of the time and then it can be impressive.

some of the problems people have with faltlines is using it in the winter... and if they are buying crappy paint... like core... the flatline does not like brittle paint from what i have learned with mine... other wise the barrel is awsome..

I have found that RPS Polar Ice is absolutely incredible in the Flatty. Its cheaper than Marbs too. Also you can use it in the winter.

yea but my friend wasnt expecting to catch it he said it seemed to float and then he just went to catch and did...so it wasnt like he was setting up to catch it he just happen to see the oppotunity and get it cuz the ball was moving so slow

I had a Flatline for over a year plus. I fire it often enough I played in several big games where its FPO only and knock on wood I have yet had one Break. I did shoot once into my Barrel cover but's the only broken paint my Flatline has seen. And i play with a tuned RT so I rock that Sweet Spot and let the trigger bounce when i am supressing fire.
Flatlines arent for impatient people, Nor are they for people who dont have the place to chrono, adjust and align it. After you install it you have to chrono yoru gun down from 300fps to about 275ish where i keep mine. Then fire a few shots at a target at mid range then some at Max range. its just like with everything. If you slap it on and expect to be some sort of master killer, you might or you might be crying on boards about your barrel.
