ok, I sold my tippmann 98c a while back.it was a truely admirable piece of work.

modied triger:a doulble triger and a few nice jery riged mods that i won't tell you how to do because you will break your sear if you try it.         &nb sp;         &nb sp;

but now its gone.

all i have left is a compleat comp-air and an expantion chamber.

i want to re-build it off of that.and i want to spent under 120$.

i don't want it to be stock so if you guys could set a price and price of upgrades (and a list) it would be apriciated.

remember:i'm re building it so i don't want a stock triger and a non stock triger.

The cheapest new 98 "shell" is at http://countysports.com - http://countysports.com . Better to try to find a used one locally or on craigslist.

It might just be me, but I don't think you'll be able to build even a decent speedball gun for $120 even with a gun already, which you don't have.

Just buy a used 98c, and upgrade it. You can get a stock 98c for the price of new shells alone...

too true.

i allready have a 06 speed.

but i want a back up gun.

trust me,i can take a stock tippy, and make it feal like a electric gun. well,it would only feal that way if a double triger was on it,but you know what i mean.

ok...but an old,scrached up reject,off e-bay for 50$?

and mill off the damaged aria, polish it, buy an ano kit,and i'm done?

i can mill for free but how much do ano kits cost?

and what ups would you recomend?

^^I'd do it. And you can't anno 98c's, but you can powder coat them. And defiantly get a new barrel, trigger, and maybe a firepower upgrade.

you can't make a descent speedball gun out of a 98 for only $120. A new barrel which you will definetely need costs around $60-$80 alone.

you can't  ano steel?hmm.

and i got a freak kit for my angel.where would i find an adaptor?

and the only fire power mod (erm.factory mod that is) is comp-air + co2.

I thought that you could anodize aluminum?  Isn't that why all the people selling high end aluminum goods always brag about anodized?  Maybe I'm wrong.

Tippmann part.com has shells for like 35$ a side and then you get a e trigger and new sear for the e trigger and then your rockin. I should cost about 120-150$ Honestly I dont beleve you need a after market barrel if your shooting 12 plus BPS. Its more about paint to bore match, even tho I have a after market barrel. First get a fire power upgrade, home mods, good hopper, and run it on Hpa.

I disagree Monkey.  I think firepower is for keeping heads down, but you could be much more conservative on paint if you had accuracy as well.

They're aluminum as said. And it's such low grade aluminum, that they're un-annoable. Now the older Tippmanns you could anno due to the quality of aluminum.

Ahh.  Suzuki comes in and saves the day!  Thanks to you sir.  ON a side note:  I assume that the A-5 is made out of the same low quality aluminum?  So no anodization (don't know if that's a word, but it sure did sound cool) for me either?

ah. thats why the old 98's are sooo light. Always thought my A-5 was steel cause of the weight differance between the two. Well, now I know that the A-5 IS aluminum.
Learned something new today!

just imagine two 2x2x2 aluminum cubes.

the low grade cube wheighs as much as a paintball (perfectly realistic) but is easily damaged.

the other,is 5-7 pounds and it very damage resistaint.

a 2x2x2 steel cube would be about 10lb.
