My friends got a plain old model 98 he'll sell to me for $40. He said it shoots but looks like sh-crap. Is this a decent deal? I've got everything I need to repaint it just lay'n around in the garage so that's not a problem. Thanks.

Sure, go for it. You can allways paint it. As long as it shoot $40.00 is a good deal.

Get it. It doesn't matter how screwed up it is, Tippmanns are tanks. You can easily fix it up if it's broke.

always go for good deals like that..as long as it shoots thats awesome...heres a good example..Some kid I know bought an autococker and he's gonna sell it to me for $25 the only problem is it doesnt shoot he says..but it would probably only cost about $100 to repair it..so I can fix it up for about $100 or buy a new one for $300...I think Im gonna buy the crap one and then fix it up...Sorry if that got confusing..I guess what I'm trying to say is go for it because it can be fixed up like brand new

depends if you're willing to be limited by the model 98... it's a pain to mod upgrades to fit it properly.  I personally would try to get it down to $30

About mods to it... I forgot to mention I already have a CPro. This would just be a backup gun for me to mess around with and practice milling. It'll also be for my little bro to use. I'm trying to get him started in paintball. Eventually I just let him have it once I'm done mess'n with it.

Thanks for the advice guys. I keep spending little bits of money and it's add'n up. I really want that C-3 but I can't buy it cause I just dropped $200 on the CPro.

I was think'n... I only play woodsball with my friends and don't plan on upping the CPro much at all. How stupid would it be to sell the CPro (hasn't even been shot yet), get the model 98, then buy the C-3? I'm really interested in both saving tons of money and getting into the pump guns. I figure this might be a good idea for me cause the model 98 (once I fix it up) will be pretty close to the CPro. Thanks for any advice.
