Whats better, A-5 with egrip, or ion?

anyway, the ion is faster, smaller, lighter but the A-5 runs from co2, comes with a hopper, more durable ------------- SP Vision Imp w/ ALL NDZ internals, CP flame drop w/ on/off, Freak-AA tip, lowrise feedneck, NDZ Pro-Mag trigger, tapeworm, NDZ lpr cap, NDZ ti. bolt pin, maybe thats it? You actually don't have to buy anything for a A-5-E, because it already has a hopper and runs fine off a co2 tank. If you bought an ION, you would need a new hopper, you'd need HPA, and you would of course want to make it a lil better so you'd throw in aftermarket parts and probobly a BH board.

BUT, the ion has eyes, the a-5 will be chopping all over the place, i think that the ion is the better choice and investment. sooner or latter u will want a get a better gun then the a-5, with the ion, not likely, u can get a better board u can get a new body, there r soo many things to do with the ion, compared to a gun that u will eventually sell, or make it ur secondary gun. ------------- Setup: Super Blue Nexus Ego Ul barrel 45/45 pmi vlocity |

The A5 doesn't really need eyes, it's not fast enough to need them. Choppage is usually caused by mechanical problems, and tends not be a problem on a well maintained gun. On my A5 I only got one or two broken balls per case of paint, which is no more than I get with my Angel or cocker. If you already have an A5, I'd play with it. The game isn't all about the gun, a skilled player with a pump will make quick work of a newbie with an Angel. On the other hand, if you've got the cash, get whatever you want, just make sure you use it. ------------- For I will wander to and fro, I'll go where I no one do know, |

you dont even give reasons why is it good? some people may have never even shot a ion and dont really know much about them i have shot them, and know stuff about them. With a few simple upgrades and some skill/practice, why not? The game is 80% the player anyhow, 20% the gun, and the Ion is more akin to a Shocker that anything else. Gun snobbery is sickening. ------------- If I flee, kill me If I die, avenge me |

I agree with you hway, i know its the player rather than the gun, and I know that the ion is capable of outshooting a shocker, if the player is good. But I've encountered numerous people who put no more than an aftermarket trigger on their ion and they think they can dominate anyone, I know everyone isn't like that, but the annoying attitude that seems to follow certain ion-owners around is just frustrating. |

very true just like ionpride all he says is that they are the greatest, but they dont support there anwser and think they are the best. I know little about the Ion, but I know alot about the A5. Noobs like the A5 because it looks cool, and Tippmann does some good advertising. After a few months of play however, the speedball bug starts to bite. Super fast markers, flashy tournament clothes, and the desire to play with the "big" boys. The 98/A5/Spyder begins to seem as unfashionable as Elvis Presley's sequined jumpsuits. The A5 is not a bad gun. It can be decently fast, decently accurate, and it is as reliable a marker as you are going to find. I kicked my Angel to the curb. When it worked, it worked well, but when it didn't, well at least my A5 didn't have to be taken to the shop if there was a problem with it. Anyway, tomorrow I goes to get a new Dynasty Shocker. Yosh Rau's team gun is for sale on PBnation, and my Paypal Visa is screaming from my wallet to get used. I'd like to have his gun, but I decided to pass and get a new one. ------------- For I will wander to and fro, I'll go where I no one do know, |
