Well, I have just gotten into paintball recently(Week and a half ago). I first bought a game face vexor, shot that in my backyard(a full 20 oz tank) then got that refilled, ended up only shooting 5-20 feet with low impact. Went to dunhams, replaced it same story except half a tank of use. Then I just got a spyder sonix, barely used it. Went to a field to play for my first time.
I sat thier for maybe an hour, talking to like 4 people that were near me. They had an Ion, 2 impulses and I don't remember what the other one hadm but they were pretty cool. I went to chrono my spyder it was running hot about 330 and no matter what I did for about an hour or so, it was still running hot. It hit below 300 like 5 times in a row[Only 280-290] but then jumped right back to 300+.
Then after a while a guy I had been talking to had a Tippy in his bag and he said if I was careful he would let me use it. So I used it for 2 games. First game, I was out in less then a minute, but the second game is where I had the most fun.
I rushed behind a bunker, shooting where I saw them. I saw my teammates[same people I had been talking to] all getting tagged, so I was the only left leaning left and right shooting to make sure I didnt flanked from one side. I got onem but soon after that I got it good right in the mask, lost about half my sight[obviously just hit my mask]. It was great, I will probably be trading my spyder back into dunhams for a tippy 98c w/ RT.
OK thier is my story, sorry for the rambling.

Yea, in that game thier was not really much talking going on, but it was 1 more experianced player[who let me use his tippy]. Then thier was like 3 kids younger then me, and 2 other older guys.
When I do get my tippmann, my first two upgrades will be: -Revy 12v -Palmers stabilizer

Welcome to the world of paintball.
The first upgrade you will want is a new barrel. The stock barrel stinks. Look into the Lapco Bigshot or the J&J Ceramic, 12-14in should be fine.

It was funny, but it was one of those situations where I wasn't sure what team he was on so I had to take the shot.

I'm sorry, but thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Couldn't
you have just shot a tree or something and watch it blow bark off
instead?!?
The bark being blown off should give you some kind of idea...Well, I commend your bravery.

Be careful out there. We were playing not long ago, and a guy got hit on the far side of the field. As he was walking down the field toward the exit holding his gun over his head he walked by a bunker, behind which was a noob around 8 years old.
The kid was terrified when the guy started to walk past the bunker. He fired his Spyder and hit this guy square in the nads at a distance of two feet or so. He went down quicker than if he'd been shot with a real gun.
Half of us winced at his pain, the other half (his friends of course) laughed until tears rolled down their cheeks and patted the kid on the head for his lucky shot.

REVIVING my dead topic lol...
Played again yesterday, my cousin came he has an older Pirhana and a Tippmann 98c. I had just got a spring put on my spyder for 6 bucks, and then put my tank on it, was leaking like crazy. I guess the cap seal was broken or something, but a guy who worked at the shop took it apart and cleaned it for me that worked at the shop and that fixed it. My cousin though wanted a spyder so, I traded him my Spyder for his Tippmann.
I used that most of the day, got shot in the head 3 times from far away. Was out in a different game, got hit in the knee 3 times while in the dead box. Then in a different game I tasted paint, nasty lol.
My final game, I used my cousins pirhana. I had about 4 bounces but for some reason the gun wouldnt fire, so I had to call myself out. He forgot to mention that the gun needed to be cocked.
He was embarassed so he only played once.
Another fun day of paintball. Now that I got a Tippmann I hope to get a few upgrades(Not in order):
Double Trigger + R/T Palmers Stabalizer Lapco Big shot 12" OR 32* Nyte Stikk 12" Revvy 12V w/ X board

While I know that upgrading is a big part of owning a paintball gun, try not to get sucked into the hype that says you need this or that to be competitive. Any paintball gun is more or less as good as the next, and operator skill is still more important than extras and other various do-dads that are added to the marker.

yup. and dont get the double trig for the rt. you really dont need it.
my bro has one (it came with his 98c, he got it as a package). then i
put his an RT on his marker for his birthday. He let me shoot it, and
ive shot 98s without double triggers with RTs. I didnt notice a
difference, and if i did it was actually worse. with the double trigger
is alot easier to accidentally overpull the trigger and end your rope.

I just went into my backyard today, used my cheap 12oz tank that came with the spyder I gave my cousin. Well, forget getting the double trigger I shot maybe a nice clean rope of 100 balls before the tank finally ran out of air(shot about 400 balls with it before + about 15 dry fires by my cousin on his pirhana and then finally the cocking knob went crazy lol).
I was so suprised I didnt chop anything, but I will definatly get a new barrel for a slight accuracy increase(the Stock is very accurate might not get one, but just longer to press againest inflatable bunkers.) Maybe I can out shoot my hopper if I get a R/T, but until then no need for a new hopper. I might get an X-Chamber or Palmers stabilizer, but summer is coming soon and My step dad might get a promotion so we might get to move to flordia.

definitely go for the palmers over x-chamber
if i could get the VA in store id get a palmers... but i cant. and the
whole not-able-to-buy-stuff-online thing doesnt help me either.
the palmers will help hpa OR Co2.
