Sounds pretty good too me.
Notin Fancy but it shall get the job done and hopefully keep ya out of trouble.
Just be real religiouse on the maintenece and keep the rubber side down.
I have alot of respect for young people who work their tails off to buy
their first car on their own. I thin it give you a greater sence
of owner ship/responsability.
Hell i know when i got my first car (had been working since 13 for my
dads company) no matter how bad the car looked. I would kill if
someone even looked at it the wrong way.

before making any final decisions on purchasing a used car, make sure you check it out for any damages like requesting a CarFax report. Unless you really know the individual on a personal level.

Take it to a garage and have them put it on a lift and see if everything is in order and all that.

I've had my truck for about a year, onyl added 7 thousand miles (up to 75k!) and I love it (Bought it on my own)
Just make sure you check into all the little stuff, have a mechanic look at it (or bring it to the local high school and have the auto tech class look at it for free) and check for any accidents and the usual routine.

You KNOW the person selling you the car. You probably then know the true condition of the car.
You can try and look around for something else... but then you're buying from a stranger. You don't know what is truly wrong with the car, or their reasons for selling it.
The fact that you are buying from someone you know, and probably have first-hand experience riding in that vehicle... that's worth a LOT right there. Takes a lot of the guesswork out of the game.
As for the price. KBB isn't always as good a pricing system as it should be.

So it looks like the overall opinion is go for it. DO you guys think it will last 4-5 more years(assuming its in good shape)? I don't want to have to get a new one for a while.

c'yea...i'd smoke that piece of garbage
...but with a budget of 7500, i'd be patient and look for a good deal (integra,300z,3000GT(not the turbo'd), unless you're really set on that car. good luck

chances are it wont give you trouble free 5 years but i doubt with the poper maintanece that anything catostropic will happen.
IM a mehcanic generally nissan makes a decent product. Its just
an average car but it should get the job done just as reliably as the
rest of the bunch.
