Specs
Tippmann 98 with polished internals
Expansion Chamber
Tippmann Remote Line
Combat Stock
Lapco 14" Bigshot beadblasted barrel
Lapco Direct Feed
Lapco Dove Tail
Lapco Slide Check
Lapsco 3x9x40 Iluminated Scope
Rocket Cocker 2
10 " double cored home made Silencer (Works great)
This is a bit of a different setup that I use some times, it is a
little more light weight then my other setup, I sometimes switch back
to my Flatline barrel, which is not as accurate at close range as the
Bigshot for anything up to 70 feet, it is great for anything over that
mark.
This setup works great for me, the guys I play with have learned the
hard way how effective it is, in the summer once the cold air clears I
will probablt remove the expansion chamber and run the remote line
directly into the Vertical Adapter.

Ok, Im not really liking the scope, its really pointless. What type of barrel is that? You should also get an electric hopper.

The barrel is a Bigshot 14", the scope works great,
especially when you only play woods ball and you are looking at
something from a distance and am unsure of whether it is a person or a
tree stump you are looking at.
The last game I played I used the scope to sink multiple paintball's in the face
of 8 different players that did not even get a shot off at me.
So for anyone considering a scope for their Tippmann, stick to a good
consistant barrel like a bigshot, get a scope that can be adjusted to a
low x factor like 3 or 4, buy something like a lapco Dovetail or high
rings to elevate the scope high enough to see through it with your mask
on and make sure that the eye piece for the scope is wide, do this and
you will be deadly with a scope
It works well for me so I guess I will continue using it
Oh and as for the Hopper I am getting a Cyclone feed in the Spring and
a RT, but as for now one is kind of useless without the other

Whats the deal with the extra bumps on the barrel? That threw me for a loop. Also as for the scope, a pair of field galsses works just as weel, and doest lead to tunnel vision.

So how does your setup work in the cold, the second last time I played
there was two brothers there with the exact same setup as you and both
of their guns brokedown in the cold. The funny thing was there was 5
Tippmanns there and 5 other types 2 ions, 1 spyder etc.. and all the non
tippmanns malfunctioned reguarly or completly but not once for the
Tippmanns

The Bumps are electrical tape, they hold my silencer perfectly centered
so that it does not interfere with the paintballs I fire.
As for the scope I like it better then field goggles because when I see
something I can shoot it rather then trying to then raise my gun hoping
that I can shoot the person at a distance far enough that I have a hard
time seeing and would need Field glasses for.
Just my preference and my style of play, besides I only look through
the scope when, I am shooting someone, I do not walk around looking
through it tunnel visioned

3000/47 PURE ENRGY AIR
The exact same as the one he has listed, they even have the same
barrels, and the same hopper, the two of them bought the exact same
gun's at the same time
I had thought with the air they would be fine but they ended up leaving
for the day they got do bad, oh one of them lost a part or something
and that ended it for him for the day

Interesting. To me, it sounds like a classic case of operator error. Ions are decent guns if they are taken care of, but they require some work to keep them in shape. Like spyders I guess is the best anology.

Yeah but they were brand new, so I figured even if they don't generally
take care of them it wouldn't matter if they were new, I don't know
maby they came from a bad batch or something, who knows, hopefully they
will work better for them this weekend, it was a shame to see them out most of the day.
But man Tippmanns rock for when it comes to being religable

That "silencer" is illegal unless you have a liscence to have one I highly recomend calling it a Fake suppressor.

There not illigal in canada, lol.
Wahts the deal tho you can get a licens to have a handgun and AK's and
what ever, but you cant have a scilencer for a paintball gun. Why is
that?

No man I live in Canada the silencer is not illegal and I don't have to worry about who sees it.
I don't really understand that, in the US you can be licenced to carry
a hand gun on your person, or to own a machine gun. But don't dare put
a silencer on your paintball gun or you will be breaking the law
LOL, thats messed up
As for the whole the silencers could be used for regular guns responce,
my silencer is mostly made of pvc pipe, use it on a real gun and you
will end up shot in the face

There were lots of bad ones out of the factory when the Ion first came out. What happened was that SP could not keep up with the demand that they had to pull people who knew nothing about the paintball markers out of their offices and onto the factory floor to help assemble the markers. This caused quite a few to come out of the factory with major assembly problems. However this problem was ironed out when the office workers were taken off the assembly line.

They bought them from a small town supplier, maby they were from the
bad batches and he had it in stock for a while. When i heard they had
gottem them I was a little worried they are firing at either 17bps or
more if I remeber correctly, but they just don't have the range and
accuracy in the woods, one of them opened up on me I kept my head down and when he
shifted position I came up with the Tippmann and placed one on the
hand, one on the shoulder and one in the face.
Funny thing is their father plays all the time and he has a 98c, he
swears by it and his new 16" teardrop barrel, but the sons think they
are crap.
Differnet strokes for different folks, I guess
