Camp Blanding MOUT and MXS in May:
“The Spartan Project” on Memorial Day Weekend

In September of 2005, over 700 enthusiastic players from across the nation were treated to the return of organized paintball events to the Camp Blanding MOUT JTC facility in Starke, Florida, when Mackz Xtreme Sportz produced “Nightmare City” upon the MOUT site after a 4-year hiatus due to force security issues.

At the conclusion of the 2005 game, MXS was given a tentative date by the facility coordinator of November 4-5, 2006, for a future event. However, the Camp Blanding facility is an active training site, and recent scheduling by the military has dictated the Nov. 4-5 date must instead be utilized for force training purposes.

Knowing how popular the MOUT site is with the paintball players, the facility coordinator and Range Control offered an alternative date of May 27-28, 2006, if MXS could produce the event.

With just days to coordinate the support personnel and plan for logistics, MXS is proud to announce “The Spartan Project” will take place on May 27-28 – Memorial Day weekend.

MXS owner Patrick McKinnon states: “We understand many players were making plans to attend the event in November. However, when the military talks, we must listen, and rather than take the chance of not being able to give the players an event in November, we threw the dice and hope the players will be able to shuffle their plans and make it out for a great game on this incredible venue.”

“The Spartan Project” will be a 24-hour scenario game written by MXS staff as inspired by the pre-“Halo” universe. All the missions, props, role-playing and intense paintball action that MXS provides can be expected to play out among the 18 buildings and surrounding woods that make up the MOUT facility.

Players may only register through the mail, via check or money order.
There is an Advance Pre-Registration Special admission fee of $50 per player - during the month of March only.
The standard Pre-Registration fee - for the month of April only - will be $60 per player.
After April 30 and at the event, all registration fees will be $75 per player.

PMI is the paint supplier for all MXS events, and will have a special fill paintball provided for this event. This is an “Event Paint Only” venue; players are not permitted to bring any other paintballs onto the facility.

Event paint will be priced at $75 per 2000-case. Players may pre-order and pre-pay for their paint when they register for the event.

All-event, unlimited air fills will be $15 per bottle for HPA and CO2. Players may pre-order and pre-pay for their air coupon when they register.

Because of the necessary rules governing usage of the MOUT facility, all participants must read and understand the http://www.mxsportz.com/rules.html - Site Usage Rules found on the MXS website for this event.

All forms, instructions, directions, information, and event message boards can be found at: http://www.mxsportz.com/spartan.html - www.mxsportz.com/spartan.html

Will there be another paintball event scheduled for the MOUT facility on November 11-12, 2006? The facility coordinator advised MXS that confirmation could not be provided until late August, when site scheduling for the last quarter of the year is complete.

Call Patrick “Pacman” McKinnon at 281-565-9381 or email mailto:mother@mxsportz.com - mother@mxsportz.com with questions that cannot be answered from the website. Put “Spartan Project” in the subject line.

We have commanders!

Leading the United Nations Space Command and Spartans will be Stan "MacTruck" Kopera of the team The Apollo Project, out of Illinois.

Leading the Covenant will be a Florida favorite, Bill "Duncan" Dunlap.

Both gentlemen are experienced commanders; have many years of scenario play under their belts, as well as a complete understanding of the General Scenario Rules of Play and MXS scenarios.

We thank the commanders for offering their services to the players, and congratulate the players who will be attending this event; they will have two fun, ruthless individuals to lead them.

Let's get this party started!

Not good for chrono, we were all jumping almost 20fps and one of our guys got ref punched from a handheld when the 3rd shot jumped to 290.

They ran out of paint 2 hours into the event and our Sponsor had to call a local paint dist to get more paint out there.
