ok...this might get kinds long, but ohh well!

i met this guy at school that likes paintball as much as me (!) and he said i should get a tippman A-5 (i have a spyder pilot) so i looked at some online. but as i was surfing i found a forum that said a M98/98c was better than a A-5.

what should i do? i have 250 dollers. should i get a m98/98c or an a-5. i play indoor most of the time there are no outdoor fields in eugene/springfield , oregon area so i dont play outside.i was told the a-5 is an upgraded version of the a-5.

OK FORGOT EVERYTHING I JUST SAID!

WHAT SHOULD I DO? GET A    M98/98C OR AN A-5!??!?!?!?!?!?

A-5, a whole lot better.I have played with the 98 almost all of my paintball life.  The A-5 is alot easier to clean, is easier to put in barrels, has alot and I mean ALOT of upgrades for it, and it shoots (IMO) more consistent than the 98.  I just threw my 98 out the window to get a mad upped A-5.  Just get the A-5.  Its worth the money.

u do know that u can get 50 bucks more and get the ion. but i wouldnt do that because u then would have to get hpa and its expensive. i have the 98c pro, i like it alot, its made like a tank, easy to clean, and i think there is this new anti chop thing for the tippy, which is awesome i say get the 98c or c/pro

i actually find the feel of the 98c much nicer, it just feels nicer to hold and everything and it isnt bulky like the a-5, and its probably just as upgradable as the a-5

You should only think about getting the custom pro or the a-5.  Buying a 98 custom is just a waste imo when you can get the custom pro.  They are both generally the same gun, with slight differences.  The a-5 is made much more modular and will be much easier to clean, use barrel adaptors, etc.  The cyclone also guaranees you won't need a new hopper until you get firing more than 20bps (But you will need to buy a $5 qev ;))

I personally like the feel of a custom pro, because it's smaller, lighter, and just feels right for whatever reason, but I prefer to use the a-5 because of the way all the parts work perfectly together.  The a-5 with a response trigger is an amazing piece of mechanical work.  Whatever you choose, take it apart right away, clean it, polish it, clean it again, and re-oil it.  Both the a-5 and custom have nasty internals if you don't polish them.

IMO, the a-5 and custom pro are the same price.  The a-5 may cost $100 more than the cpro, but it comes with the cyclone pre installed.  With the 98, you'd have to easily spend more than $80 to get an electronic hopper or get the cyclone to keep up wiht the stock 17bps.  The extra $20 is a fiar price considering the a-5 is so modular, and it has very nice stock sights.  The removable grip comes in handy, especially if you change between an r/t and an e-grip, just slip one off and the other on.  The cpro isn't that modular.

Eather one is a good price for what they do and how well they do it.

ok thanks everyone!

but one more thing i just want to clear up.

the a-5 is easyer to field strip so u can do it on the field (if u find a safe spot) but the cpro is harder, so u might have to get off the field to totaly clean it. but i herd that the cpro is easyer to clean then the 98custom so how much harder is the cpro to clean then the a-5 or 98 custom?

The 98s are all the same to clean, you have to actually open it up and clean it or w/e you need to do. The A-5 is totally different. Push out the four or five pins that hold the body together, and all the internals come out and u can put a squeegee thru or what-not and your ready to go again.
