dude the bottom one looks like one i got. actually that happened 2 times. my friends like oh my hopper is empty and i actually said no dont and he pointed it at me and fired. luckily i turned in time otherwise he would have hit down below. it ended up that he had a broken paintball in his hopper and didnt hear it bouncing around. his barrel was less than a foot away from me. i ended getting him back by shooting him with a cherry. lol. you know there solid and stuff. lol. what comes around goes around.

then another time was when it was this kids first time paintballing and i was on his team he was walking right behind me. he shot my in the back of the leg. yeah i was mad again. both shots made me bleed and my friends were like dont be a wuss. jeez you bleed easily. well guess what you would too if you got shot that close. they just laugh. he let me shoot him for payback.

I play woods and a few other kids who play in this pasture where i go have a speedball type team (no airball fields in mandan/bismarck ND) with blue empire jerseys, high end guns, and everything and one of the kids comes and bunkers me with his impulse and shoots me 6 times in various spots on my body from less then 10 feet he hit me 6 times because the other guy behind the shrubs with me was using me as a human shield. The funny thing is everytime anyone would shoot the guy with the imp he would whine about how they have their velocity jacked up when the kid tells people on his team to jack their velocity

if he can with stand that, why is he scared of playing in a proper game?

when i play, usally if you get hit, you get hit with like five balls at a time, and ive been hit really close and its not fun when you get hit a whole bunch of times at once in one area being close to the person.

You guys need to get the velocity down. Injuries like that will scar. Paint traveling at 275 will not do damage like that. Also paint traveling that fast injects paint into the skin which may lead to infection and at best, as I said, will scar. Wait till you get hit in the throat at that velocity. These are the type of injury that makes Mom sell your marker and forbid you from playing anymore.

^^^^ Hoa man that had to hurt. I assume that your little bro won because  Tippmanns un chrononed are like sling shots. I used to play like that all the time, man did that hurt. Then One day I rushed my cuz and smack, bare skin in the forhead at 5 feet. We got in a fist fight, so we never played like that ever agin.  USE A CHRONO

That does not appear to be strictly a welt. The skin appears to be broken. If it is broken, YOU ARE NOT FIRING AT 250 FPS. Turning the surface skin to hamburger takes 350 fps.

And as for "I know for a fact it is fine," is a bunch of malarkey. From one day to the next, heck, from one bottle fill to the next, velocity can change 100 fps. Get a chrono before someone is seriously hurt, or some responsible adult sees the damage and stops all play!

Two hits on the same spot, even with lower velocity, will churn the surface skin to hamburger. But, usually hits at less than 300 fps just cut you with the shell.

One of the paintball mags had an article a while back about skin damage and ball velocity. Point of the article was that EVEN AT THE MUZZLE velocities less than 300 fps DID NOT TURN UNPROTECTED SKIN TO HAMBURGER.

Not to be a harpie. But get a chrono to be safe, when I started playing with my gruop noone new what a chrono was but me, I had played many years ago at a field. How do you play the sport yet not know what you need to do to be safe. We had to chrono several times during the day. None of my group outside of me have ever played at a field.

When we went to a tourny and chronoed they found out they were all running hot 380, one was at 400. Now they like playing better at 280 not worried when we if we get bunkerd or hit at a close range.

Glad he had the stuff to take the pain, but it is not all about pain.You never know when someone joins your group what what thier set at or how old thier lense is. Please play safe ball? No one here wants to read about a serious injury or death do to sillyness.
