I have an A5. I want to make it as quiet as possible. What can I do to quiet my gun that would be most effective. I have already searched this topic and found nothing. |

the only thing I can think of is changing the barrel, but not sure which barrel is that quiet. I heard the J&J ceramic was not as loud as the barrels on my sig. you could take a 20oz(i think thats the size)mountain dew,
pepsi, coke bottle...you know the plastic ones and fit it over your barrel and fill it with polyester mix...you know the material they stuff teddy bears with...do that and your barrel, and your shots will sound like a "gopher fart" EDIT: If you dont have a short barrel than fit the bottle over the most porting you can cover ------------- Real guns have gills. |

Cop, probably not. The BATF will have a fit about it though. once again, taken from www.paintballzone.com; " Well enough of my ranting, here is how to get it registered: • Fill out a Form 1, (to make a firearm, yes, you use this form for suppressors too instructions on back gives the “How to”). You can down load the form, or what I did is get the BATF to mail a “To Make” packet, includes all the things you need. • Go to your local FBI, BATF, or Jail and have them “Finger Print” you on the supplied FBI finger print cards, (two of them), I went to the local county jail, they have a Finger print scanner machine, that scans your finger prints and puts good quality prints onto the cards, because if you mess one up with regular inking you have to do it over, the BATF will halt your application until you send in a good set, the finger print cards have to be done in front of a Law enforcement official that verifies that the prints are indeed yours. • Go to the post office, Air Port or some other place that you can get “Pass Port” type photos, a 2"x2", you need 2 (Two) of them. • You will fill out 2 (TWO) of the above Form 1s with pictures on back, one the BATF keeps on file, the other they send back to you, and is your proof of your registered Silencer. • The hardest part is getting the signature of your regional law enforcement official. & ;nbs p; If you live in the county/rural this person will be the local Sheriff for your county. If you live in the city this person will be the Chief of Police. If you can’t get this person to sign the form you can go “above their heads” by getting the Judge for your district/county to sign it." The BATF is a government agency. Well you just admitted to using a silencer and told your location, so it wouldn't be too hard. Dudes i dont think the BATF is going to patroll recball fields or forums for players that make their own silencers. It would be stupid to bring it to a field you have to pay to get in to, but i dont think anything is going to happen if you use it for rec ball. And most cops dot know enough about paintball to realize you have a home made silencer on your barrel. haha, sorry guy..but that bottle thing really does work.

No, he takes the time to research questions and tries to provide useful information...that is why you came here isn't it? Or did you just come to brag about you superior intellect? That superior intellect that will do you so much good while you are trying to work off that $50K fine or trying to find a time when you can shower when no other inmates are around. There used to be, on the market, a little piece of hardware that clamped onto the end of a riffle barrel. It allowed you to screw the open end of a 2 liter soda bottle onto the rifle. Silenced extremely well, particularly when firing the first shot. Friend of mine got caught and fined for installing that on his 22 target rifle. Didn't hit him too badly, only $25K fine and time served (he was in jail for 30 days awaiting trial) plus five years probation...oh, BTW, it is against the law for him to ever own a firearm again. Conviction under unregistered silencer law is a felony on your record. |

I live in a neighborhood that has a lot of cops that live here too, i could go out on my street point my gun into my backyard with a "muffler" over my barrel and they would drive by and not care as long as i wasn't shooting it at animals or people since im not on a field...and even if i where they still wouldnt care about my muffler ------------- Real guns have gills. |

Yeah, i guess your right, but he is also trying to tell us it is totally illegal on real firearms..so i wont do it cause there is a real risk a $50k risk. but if a cop does know and care about "silencers" on paintball guns im sure i will get a warning..and after that i just wont do it. ------------- Real guns have gills. |

LMAO! yeah, yesterday i heard the flatline for the first time (on an A-5)... I thought my APEX was loud! HOLY CRAP that thing is loud enough to hurt my ears when I'm indoors! I mean, the APEX is intimidating, but geez...
