slip a wrench on to hold the gas line end where it connects to the tank adpater, and with some rubber gloves for grip... twist off.

First thing about gas fittings, dont use a crescent wrench (The adjustable style wrench). Crescent wrenches will change size just enough to slip and round off the fitting youre working on.

Use a good quality open-end wrench, your hardware store will be able to help you find the correct size, and it will be a handy tool any time in the future you need to mess with your gas fittings. Most steel braid lines are the same size too, so it will work on nearly any gun.

If its REALLY stuck in there, do you have a bench vise? Clamp the hex area of the gas line in a bench vise, and you should be able to get enough leverage on the ASA to twist that sucker off easily. If not, get a metal rod that will fit through the ASA bolt holes to get more leverage on it.

This might help. The asa/tank adapter on your m98 has squared sides so you can get a wrench around it.

Also. Righty tighty, Lefty loosey.

One shot, One kill.... Oh, wait. What fun is that? TEN shots, one kill, and a bunch of welts on your back.
