Theres always the pen spring mod.  If you don't know about it, just search the forum for it, or the rest of the internet, there are tons of guides for it.  Its simple and quick.

Why would you want to take off the R/T? Do you plan to play alot of tournies with it? I would think that you could go back to stock with it?

Yes, you can take the RT off without having to buy parts, as long as it comes with the stock hoses and fittings.

Not much to do about getting a higher ROF with a mechanical trigger except maybe to get a double trigger. You'd be better off getting an E-Grip as that will lighten your pull.

Trigger mods wont help you at all. The R/T will be much much faster than any trigger mods will get you.

-------------
A-5
E-Grip
JCS Dual Trigger
DOP X-CORE 8 stage x-chamber
Lapco Bigshot 14" Beadblasted

Optional setup:
R/T
Dead on Blade trigger

With trigger mods you wont see much for an increase in bps.

If you looking to play in tournaments seriously your going to either need:
 A) A new gun
OR
B) An E-grip w/ upgraded board

I'm pretty sure the RT comes with different hoses for the cyclone feed and also new banjo fittings. If you take out the RT, I assume you'd need to put the stock banjo fittings and cyclone hose back in.

Someone who has one could tell you better than me.

Why do you have to ask? Use your manual and look at the spare parts you have.

You could probably just take off the banjo tee and replace it with the normal banjo fitting.

Also, the r/t can be turned off, so it's tournament legal as long as it's off.  Just leave it attached.

You only need the standard A-5 manual if you're getting rid of the r/t... duh? :P

Just screw the r/t adjuster all the way in and it's off.

You can do fine with a stock a-5, just get a double trigger and do whatever you can to lighten it.  E-grip would help tonnes.

^^^ Yea but if you plan to go in to tournys Id get a Egrip. I used my tippy stock for a few tournys and you can but its alot harder. With a stock Tippmann you can get about 4-6Bps. With a bunch of trigger modes,4-10 Bps. Mines walkable at about 5-6bps. In tournys every one else is going to be shooting 12+ bps. Get a Egrip or use RT.

Ok, if your gonna play any tourny, you need a good gun.

Here's what I would buy with $240.00

A.) JCS double finger trigger, Good barrel kit (stiffi), and a E-grip with a WAS board.

B.) Sell your whole setup (a5, rt, everything) and buy an Smartparts Ion, Halo B hopper, and a good HPA tank.

*A5*
CP 1 Piece barrel
47/3000 nitro tank
E-grip with APE board
JCS duel trigger
QEV kit
Shocktech Rel. Bar
Shocktech Gas through grip
*Optional setup*
Super R/T

^^umm...no ima keep my A-5...my team is all tippys and thats how we want it...we like to be underdogs..remember its not the marker its the player ...sry for just shooting it down but yea...if u guys have any ideas for me to get an e-grip, double trigger, and a 68/4500 N2 tank w. 240 and still have $$ for paint and field and tourny admissions..or a whole diff alternative im still open

...and why wuld i trade anything for an ION...for that price id rather by a prostock..

ok what should i get 1st HPA or E-grip?..do need HPA if get the E-Grip?

^^No you don't need Hpa for it. I'd geta Egrip first, then Hpa. With Co2 and egrip tho don't expect as meny shots per tank or great consistancy Because of ROF issues.

get the egrip first for sure. i know ill get flamed for it, and i dont even personally believe it, but ive heard a LOT of people say that tippmanns run better off Co2. They DO work fine. Better? not in my opinion. but  definitely get the Egrip first, then get the comp. air tank as your next major up.

3 bps will keep someones head down as well as 15 bps, try it stock befor you spend the money.  It'll help you hone your skills as well.  You may suck and lose in the beginning, but you'll get the hang of it, and you'll end up a much better player.

Maybe get a palmers stab befor you get air as well.

In my oppinion, a co2 tank regulated by a palmers will be as good as an HPA tank not using a secondary reg, and when you finally do get HPA, you will have the secondary reg to be extremely consistant.

If I were you, E-grip > Palmers > HPA

right on RavenGuard.

the HPA ISNT NECESSARY AT ALL for a tippmann. and as he said, if there are paintballs flying above your head, you will duck. How many times a second do you need to miss someone? at a low ROF you will eventually become more accurate and smarter, so when you finally get to a higher ROF then you will be unstoppable.

Same theory as starting off with a pump gun, which i should have done. EVERYONE SHOULD!
