Ok, we've all had a bad experience at a restaurant, and for many of us it has led to a strong desire to never eat there again. Why keep this information to ourselves when we can share it for the greater good and possibly save someone from a bad experience? Plus the stories are often gross and make people think of them when they eat there. hehe
Ponderosa
I will no longer eat there because while we were there they had multiple power outages in clear weather, leading me to question their refridgeration. Also, there were cockroaches around the buffet, and one on the buffet. My mother-in-law pointed this out to a worker who intended to do nothing about it and tried to walk away, leaving the roach on the green beans. We promptly packed up and left, never to return. An e-mail to the local news got us nothing, and the health inspector sent a form letter that several restaurants were under investigation and our claim was noted. Ponderosa is still there.

I try to forget the few years of my life spent behind a fast food counter or over a grill when I go out to eat. Out of sight, out of mind. I'd hope that things have improved in 12 years.

Nope.
As long as fast-food places still hire teenagers for minimum wage, it will never get any better.

Well Duh! I don't like eating at places where a crap load of nasty people
that you don't know are grabbing food with their hands. Buffets make me
sick at times. I mean honestly. I don't even like to use the silverware at
Restuarants, because it just makes me wonder where's it's been and if it
has been properly cleaned.
Now there is this one Chinese Buffet in my town that is really clean and
small, so I like to eat there.

Yeah, stay away from buffets. Those places are so nasty. I've only been to one once when I was coming back from vacation. So freaking nasty.

I'm pretty selective about the Asian restaraunts around here. There's no more than three between the surrounding three counties that I consider edible and safe. Some I consider toxic zones under any conditions... and not without reason. One in particular was shut down by the health department twice in its first month of operation. They were closed for 6 weeks, then reopened under a different name, but with all the same cars in the parking lot.

Mimis Cafe, found a caterpillar in the salad. I try to stay away from buffets and fast food. The cost, health reasons by just eating the food, and health conditions on the business itself.

Not really a resturaunt in any way bu my school cafeteria. Last year I had one of those chicken sandwhiches and once I got over the large cost of it I took and bite and realized there was something really hard inside....it was some kind of small bone. I took it to the main office and not much happened til the end of the yr when they got a new provider and just last week I guess a bunch of kids got food poisioning from the same chicken sandwiches

Morton's Steakhouse
We had a group of around twenty people for New Year's Eve and the total check was around the two thousand dollar mark, but the food was horrid. Overcooked, wrong items, etc. Not things you should expect when paying that much.
And
Mastro's Ocean Club in Newport Beach. Mediocre food that is extremely expensive.

I was a groomsman in a wedding last summer, and we went to this little Italian restaurant the night before the wedding for the rehearsal dinner. There were probably 40 people there, including the entire bridal party, as well as bride and groom's familes. Just as we start to eat, the bride begins to shriek, as she pulls a cricket out of her salad. What's worse, when they asked the waitress and then the manager, they didn't even give her so much as a discount.

Golden Coral (SP?) for me.
First time there, some kid had crapped his diaper and was flinging it at everything that moved. It was on the plates, walls, tables, people, etc... The kid's mom had just left him setting there, so a bunch of employees surrounded the kid, and he flung poo on them too. Finally, mom returned and was promptly escorted from the establishment along with the little turd flinger. It wasn't really the restaurant's fault... but it kinda ruined the whole experience for me. I've never been back.

First time I went to applebees, a waitress dropped 2 glasses of beer on me, both down my back. Got a free shirt out of it, but I was freezing and smelled like an alocoholic. I'd still go back though. I havent had any experiences bad enough to not return, if the place is shifty,I probably wont go in the first place.

Paneras black trays tested positive for ots of bacteria and some fecal matter at a location in Saint Louis. Expect a news story in 2 or 3 weeks.
As an employee at panera now, our branch tripled the cleaning process. It sucks, but whatever.

^what a tease
Off the top of my head, the only real bad experiences I have had were at a Denny's in Oakland and a local Central Coast McDonald's.
The Denny's just sucked, it was horrible service and they took so long with most of our order that we thought it was justtified to walk out without paying....the saddest thing is I don't think anyone working there really gave a crap.
At the McDonald's, I was hungry as a saquatch, after school. My wonderfully caring mother took me to get some drive-through. I got the two cheeseburger value meal. After mowing through the first burger, I ate half the 2nd one in about 2 bites. I pulled away from the burger, and a LONG ASS HAIR came along in my mouth!
Good lord that was horrible

After picking up full truckloads of prepared and raw foodstuffs nothing bothers me anymore.
Hormel Foods: Packaged and prepared meats, filthy, workers filthy, plant a mess, recanning damaged product, etc
Barr S Meats: Same
IBP: Produces all of the prepackaged hamburger for all the chains, filthy, no stock rotation, stinks, blood all over, questionable status on workers (illegals?)
seen the open mix tanks for ground beef (you do not want to know)
Green Giant: Vegtable canning and packaging, smells, open air storage of empty cans, seen the drop vats and workers using shovels off floor of spillage back into tanks.
Drive a truck and pickup food anywhere, you will have to starve yourself after what you see.
