ok so I go out to my field, gas up my A-5 and set the velocity to 280,and when I shoot it kinda makes a clang sound like a hammer hitting my c02 tank to give you an idea what it sounds like, do you think this could have been my tank??it sounds fine without balls(no clang),but when I put balls in it, it makes the clang sound again.

                    thanks for your help

Does it sound like a pinging sound that rings thru the CO2 tank? If so, that is a peculiar but perfectly normal thing that happens sometimes.

EXACTLY WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE!!!!! how do I fix it?

do you think that it could be affecting my accuracy?because my flatline TOTALLY sucks right now, and it IS installed correctly.

I just ordered myself a 12" bigshot

^ i think the noise is normal maybe the paint your using with the flatine isnt the right size or its low quality

Its normal, its a Tippmann thing. I remember on Old Blue someone narrowed it down to the sear spring.

thanks guys, but does anyone know how to solve my accuracy probs?
my field uses diablo nightmare, they constantly get shipments cause people use it so fast and I heard that it was good in the flatline...the weather was perfect 70 degrees out..and it wasnt wet outside.

Diablo is well suited for rec play with the Flatline. Have you cleaned the Flatline with hot water and Dish detergent? (Dawn is good) The Flatline on the A-5 doesn't seem to require the meticulas fit up that is required in the 98C, but still, is it seated properly and all parts tight with no movement between the receiver and the barrel and shroud?

You might try a tank cover to reduce the noise.

yes I have cleaned it with some dish soap in hot water and then tested it after thoroughly drying and it still was making sharp curves left, right, and down.well if I pull pretty hard up the barrell will move a tad bit but nothing IU dont think isnt supposed to happen.

Do you have an E-Grip? Sometimes when the armature pin hits the sear, it echoes and you hear it ping off the tank.

it happens to me to somethimes. its not a problem. what im almost positive it is is the sear spring pushing the sear into the hammer. it happens to me when ive got a fresh fill and im running at higher pressures (co2).

is it the same circumstance for you?

dont worry about it, its not damaging your marker. its perfectly normal.

Can you post a picture of the CO2 tank you are using?  Some CO2 tanks out there are poorly made.  I have one that does that, but the rest are fine.
