Hey, just recentlygot an A-5 with response trigger and since ive had it I haven't been able to adjust the velocity on the gun to shoot any more than 250 really. I'm not sure what could be causing these problems but I have taken my gun apart and put it back together and didn't see any paint or debris around the bolt or the cyclone feed or in the ASA. I've only used it, and the air tank twice so far so is there the possibility that it needs to be 'broken in'?

What I have:

A-5

R/t

HPA Tank 68/4500

J&J Ceramic 14'

I have messed with my velocity screw from all the way in to all the way out and it wont go above 250, I have tried other air sources and it doesn't have any effect different barrels/balls same thing. Really the only thing that I could think of was that it simply needed to be broken in a little bit more since, as I said, it's only been used twice. Anyone else have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.

It COULD, but your best bet is just to buy a spring kit.

the RVA MIGHT help, but its better to get to the root of the problem and get a spring kit. The valve also might be dead.

Also, check that the O-ring on the RT fitting is still in place and intact. im not sure, but i think it could cause velocity problems if its leaking.

Well another development is now my cyclone feeder isnt working at all. The springs and everything are fine, I even disconnected the r/t and just had the microline run from the cyclone to the receiver and it still wont load balls. Bleh

Well the ratchet moves when I press in the manual button, and I have a couple of times been able to have the cyclone move without balls in it by messing with the hoses but as soon as i put paintballs in it it doesnt fire so could this all be blamed on ratchet wear? Which I did have a small chunk grind off inside the cyclone after I took the screws off but the manual button still cycles the cyclone.

I was talking to a couple of people, about this just last week they both had to have the rachet replaced. One of them it was nearly new, the other one fired about 6000 rounds through it. They siad it it can happen any time. As for volocity, do you have a stock on, one of the two but on a stock last year that was plastic and he cuold'nt raise his above 250. If you do, try taking the stock off, and running just the back plate.

Not to insult your intelligence, but you aren't shooting paintballs that are super small or super large, are you? You would get slow velocities if the balls were so large that they had to be forced all the way out the barrel, or small enough that they don't seal the breach off, and most of the air that shoots the ball escapes around the ball instead of propelling it.

Using .68 caliber paintballs, in fact I've used a variety of different quality paintballs. As for the backplate, I am using the stock backplate. And with the cyclone not feeding balls thats more than likely the ratchet? But as far as the ratchet thats more than likely the cause?

Do you have a any other way to adjust your volocity then the bolt on the marker. I.E. a stabalizer or regulater, that can be the issue.

It sounds like a Drive Spring problem to me. I would suggest a Maddmann Spring kit. The Red(heavy) one should solve all your problems.

Does this kit include the green/blue/red springs?

I think because most markers do have better accuracy at around 270-290 fps. Example I refer to is that the flatline is more accurate with marbs w/ a 270fps velocity.
