I have recently bought a flatline barrel and when I was first shooting it, it never broke a ball, but on my last broke. I heard a rumor that once you break a ball with one the barrel will not shoot right again, even if you cleam it. This sounds stupid I know, but I don't have anymore paintballs to test the rumor. So I was curious if it is true.

No. Just clean it and it will be fine.

Yeah, it might not shoot right if there's a glob of paint blocking the barrel, but it doesn't make any sense for the barrel to never shoot right again because of that...

if that was the case, barrel makers would be richer.

Just make sure you clean the barrel with water and not just squeegie it. Flatlines especially need to be soaked a few times to make sure they're clean  :)

You broke a ball in a Flatline!!! That is never supposed to happen!!! It is so unexpected that there isn't even a way to fix it!!! It will never shoot straight again!!! Your only solution is to buy a new barrel!!!

And even with a new barrel, don't let the old contaminated one lie close to it because it will contaminate the new one...requiring you to buy a third. Get rid of that contaminated barrel before you even get the new one in the house. I'll take it off your hands and you won't have to pay me a cent. Heck, out of the kindness of my heart I'll even pay the shipping. Just trying to help you out here so that that contaminated barrel doesn't ruin the rest of your paintball playing life.

Now, don't you feel properly embarrassed to have even asked such a question. Your cousin does that to you all the time, doesn't he? Why do you listen???

what i have heard about the Flatline is that since the inside of it is textured; over a period time that rough surface begins to wear out and the quality of your shots slowly goes to **edited**.

that's natural wear.

That's included in the warranty? if Tippmann will re-surface that for free, then that's nice.

Have they done that for you?

It takes 100,000 to 200,000 rounds through it to "wear" it out. I bought my first Flatline used. They still resurfaced it for free.
