Im not selling here, just using you as a test market basicly. I'd really like to start selling them if I can. I'm working on getting fabric spraypaint, so I can sell them on clothes. In the meantime, I'm wondering if there are any other things you guys think people might be interested in buying. So far I've put them on records, boxes, binders, duotangs. I could put them on just about anything, so what do you think? If you saw them offered, what would make you go "hmm, thats pretty sweet..."

Ideas are appreciated, I'll let you guys know when I get fabric paint too

You could put some designs on computer cases.. and well, that's all I got for now but, I'm sure anything you do will be great chops.

Yeah, I thought about spraying my new monitor, and if I ever got a PC, I'd deffinitly spray it...but unless people feel like paying shipping for their case, I cant do that. I want to do something I could mail if I had to, would turn a profit, but people would actually buy without going "damn...pricey"

Hats would be good. Stickers might also work.

Maybe see about putting them on tank covers.  But the big question is, will the stencil stay on the cover and not rub off?

it might not be so pricy if they just sent you one of the side panels right? i might want one for my bookshelf but sending a panel from my shelf would still cost quite a bit. maybe you should consider just selling the stencil and letting people spray their own stuff then. i think since you'd be sending them a stencil (lots of time to cut some of the complicated ones out) you could ask for more.

well its a good idea but the problem im seeing is that chewp might not wanna spend that kinda time making stencils, and if his demand gets to high, it'll stress him out. maybe he could just to it so people have to cut out their own, and it will cut what he charges a lot. just throwing out ideas.

If you got really serious about this thing you could get a contract for art design for a snowbard or skateboard company. Probably good money in that.

Half the designs on skateboards are crappy and generic. It would be pretty cool if you put something homemade on there.

Yeah, I'm getting clothing done as soon as I get my hands on the right paint. I remember carbinefreak, you really want the hoodie with the gas mask. I'm looking into decal stuff, cause alot of stencil artists stencil vinyl, then stick that to stuff, so we'll see what I can do. In that case, I could ship those, and if you wanted it on your computer case or whatever, it'd be just like a sticker.

Do you take your own photos too? Cause otherwise you have to pay royalties right?

You've probably got that all figured out though.

Posted By: choopie911
Date Posted: 23 March 2006 at 4:29pm
On alot of them, they're random stock photos I've found, but yes, some I wouldnt be allowed to use. I'd be able to do a few if someone I knew really liked them, and "owed me money" at the same time co-incidently. I have at least one DVD full of stock images, as well as the wikipedia royalty free image database thing.
Worry about it when I get there I guess.

yea, but if he sells the stencils only then people could just share or turn around and sell them when theyre done....i see where your goin with that though, and it would be pretty pricey to send stuff up to canada...unless choop, your not really in this to make a lot of cash, but if you are, then just selling the stencils wouldnt really reap in a lot of cash.....plus i dont know if youd have to get an OK from companies, film people, ect...like the boondock saint one you did, if you go and sell that w/o permission they could sue you for using their logo or w/e w/o giving a commission......i may be wrong on both these points, but something to take into account, im sure you already have though

Design a metal stamp, put it in a hand press and stamp put the stencils. More $ up front but the fastest and easiest way to do it.

I actually need a stencil made. I don't know where to get one or anyone who could make one, so if you could help me out let me know. I need a stencil of the University of Rhode Island ram logo. It seems like it would be a pretty easy stencil to make. I'm making a really cool beruit (or beer pong if you prefer) table. I'm going to paint it and everything and in the center I want the Ram logo. PM me if your interested in making $$ in exchange for this stencil.

Do you really think that a company that has made millions off of this is going to take some small time guy to court and get at most a couple thousand out of him?  I doubt it.

Lookin' good, Chewp.  I might have to purchase one of these if you ever get around to selling some.

Yeah, I'd say about 15 for a shirt. You'll probably sell more if you go cheaper too, people will buy three ten dollar shirts before they buy one for twenty dollars. You should check out ebay for the raw materials you need to man, I've seen bundles of like 50 t-shirts for like 20 bucks on there before.....
